Late night bullshit: other than Geno, here's where I'd be drafting QBs.
Because we've all had more than our fair share of Geno conversation for the time being, I'm going to introduce a conversation topic that specifically excludes him.
The question: Excluding Geno at 1.1, which QBs in this draft would you take, and in what rounds? 1. I would take Ryan Nassib with our pick in the third, should he last that long. I think he's incredibly bright and throws with great accuracy. His roof may just be as an extremely effective game manager, but that's really all this draft has to offer aside from Geno. 2. Sadly, I'd probably take Tyler Bray, too. But I wouldn't take him over Nassib. I just feel the tremendous need for this team to build some semblence of depth at QB, and Bray has a prayer's prayer of being any good. He's at least playing with the right materials: he's got great size, a strong arm. But his gametape is really not anything to write home about. He's throwing to two 1st round picks this past season, and shit his pants about 1/3 of the season. 3. I'd consider taking Zach Dysert from Miami (OH) if he's still there in the midrounds. I don't know. I'm really reaching here, everybody's a pig you have to put lipstick on. Dysert can stretch the field, has a great arm and pretty good size. Take a flyer. 4. That's pretty much it. I guess I wouldn't kick up shit about EJ Manuel should we trade back into the 2nd, or Brad Sorenson or Landry Jones in the 7th. Everything else is just torrid bullshit. Maybe one of you guys are more optimistic. |
As much as it sucks and it really sucks for us but when you look at Reid and Dorsey's background, the massive need we have/had at QB, the fact that they decided to do what they did for Alex Smith and not draft a guy at 1 tells you pretty much all you need to know about the top guys.
Now, maybe they see their guy sitting there in round 3, I dont' know. But it's frustrating. |
I keep wondering to myself if Wilson will be available at the top of the third, and if we take him if he falls that far. He's absolutely plummeted down the draft boards, but is he worth the first pick of the third round?

If this is what we got to do then I'm ready for next years draft to come out.

Bray or Dysert in the 3rd or later are the Chiefs best bets for a developmental QB in 2013. |
I'm pretty leary of Wilson at this point based on his "Petrino" itis.
Bray would be fine, he has the best natural tools of the class. IMO, and he would take developing, I'd like to get back into the 2nd round and get Manuel. |

CB, S, DE, ILB. |

I think CB and/or DE will be filled by the time the draft hits. Also we signed that Abdullah who could be a decent S. Likely better thna Lewis at this point. |
Tyler Bray is going in the 2nd.

I honestly think they're looking at the draft to fill the holes and I'd take Xavier Rhodes, Kenny Vaccaro and others before Manuel in the second, if they HAVE a second. |

I just think they're going to somehow get a 2nd rounder back, and I figure thats where they plan on getting their QB. Unless they wait till the third, but I don't know that there will be any around then. I don't think theres any way Rhodes or Vacarro make it to the 2nd, but there will eb some CBs there. |

Although I admit, I liked the Chiefs chances of getting either player when they held the #34 overall pick. |

I've got a pretty good way to fill that Cb spot, but it will cost alotta coin and some ingenuity.
I'd trade 1.1 to the Jets for 1.9 and Revis, then hope like hell one of the LT's fell and try and trade with the Rams for 18 and their 2nd. Then take whoever or whatever I wanted that was available there. |
