So... Joe Flacco is a UFA at the end of this season.
With none of the QBs coming out of college seeming to be a #1 overall lock... what say we back up the Brinks truck and try and bring Flacco to KC?
|
Really? Like Baltimore won't Franchise him at minimum, much less show him the money themselves. Screw it regardless, I want Geno or Barkley.

Baltimore is going to give this guy $100m.
|
I'd take him, but Baltimore won't let him leave town.
|
Nope, this is the year to go for a QB in the draft everyone and their mother will be after Flacco ( Cowboys) even if he doesn't sign with Ravens
|
No, we will use the #1 pick on our own home grown QB.
|
It would play out as revenge from Baltimore for getting Grbac after he left us.
|
Brinks truck? The Chiefs own an ATM smart car.

and what if they franchise him?
lol |
we are likely to get a top 2 pick with 3 very good QB's coming out and you're thinking Joe Flacco? wow.
|
Joe Flacco and Sean Payton, a true Chiefs homer dream

Do not want.

NO WE'RE GOING TO DRAFT A ****ING FIRST ROUND QB AND GROOM HIM!!! NO MORE RETREADS!!!

Flacco isn't a retread though. |

To me it is any QB drafted and developed by another team. |
Quote:
That is like calling LeBron a retread because he isn't with the Cavs anymore. |
If by some act of god we got Flacco...it would be like the Saints getting Drew Brees.
Not a retread. |

In no universe does Flacco walk away from Baltimore.

The Chiefs own nothing smart. |

Have you not learned anything in the past 25 years? :shake: |
Off topic, but I'd really like to see the Chiefs bring in Bruce Gradkowski for back up. It's about time we get a REAL veteran in here to stabilize our backup situation.
No, Scott, Brady Quinn doesn't count. |

I would ****ing take Flacco over a QB in the draft in a ****ing heartbeat. Are you kidding me? The superstar QB coming into his 2nd contract having just come up? No grooming. That's been done. And he loves Zorn. It would be awesome.
|
No chance Ozzie Newsome lets him walk as an unrestricted free agent...none.

And it's Joe Flacco....not exactly a QB to cream in your jeans over. Maybe I do need to change my pad. Watching your team become the worst team ever in the history in the NFL right before your own eyes will do that to a man. |
If there was any implication there, it was completely unintentional. Just something to talk about to pass the time until draft day.
|
eh, meh
|
GO JAGUARS
|
When did Flacco suddenly become the next coming of Matt Ryan or Manning? When the team puts the game on his shoulders, he more often screws up then plays up to expectations. He is a game manager. period.
|
I dunno what Flacco is to be honest, right now.
Early this season he was playing like a top QB and he's leveled off. He was still one completion away from the SB last year. A dropped completion. |
Hes ok, not top tier....but honestly, id rather the Chiefs just take their chances with a top rookie.
|
Reminds me of Grbac
|
It sure would be tempting. Sign Flacco and trade down from the top pick stockpiling an assload of premium picks in the process wouldn't necessarily piss me off.
|
I just think he's overhyped because of the team he plays for.
With guys like Smith, Boldin, Rice and a solid line... he's currently throwing a very cassel-esque 59%. Hopefully the ravens just love them some him. |

No more putting all our eggs in one basket and hoping it works out. |
Pretty terrifying. He's more than likely gone after this year in baltimore and he's the exact type of retread quarterback the chiefs always seek out. if they sign "joe flaacooo" (said in balmiore crabbing accent) and waste another high draft pick on overrated SEC players this franchise will be flat ****ed for decades. Nasty.

Why does anyone think Flacco is gone in Baltimore?
LMAO |
Flacco is completing 59% because he is constantly throwing downfield.
It sure would be fitting to sign Joe Flacco in the offseason we lose Dorsey to FA. it would almost be like fixing the 2008 draft. |

Pass.
|
Flacco has more regular and post season wins than any qb during the span he has been a starter. Can't put all of that as wins by the defense.
This team played winning football with Kyle Orton...going from Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn to Joe Flacco would be DRASTIC. |

Don't ****ing keep Quinn around and draft another 5th round guy to keep fans interested in some underdog story. I want a GM/HC that looks for a Steve Young when they already have a Montana... |
Hell to the yes. He'll be franchised if he's not re-signed long term though.
|
If cassle does does this -- 21/43 147 3.4 avg, 15/25 153 6.4 avg, 13/27 187 6.9 avg -- he gets crucified and blown up online and on national TV. I have to watch baltimore games and Flaco looks like a more confused dave craig right now. He's probably leaving balitmore, and the chiefs would be deranged enough to pay aaron rogers-like money on a washed up retread quarterback from the ravens.
|
Quote:
Yes, go all in on flacco if we can. However, Baltimore will be tagging him at the very least imo. |
Quote:
Cassel AVERAGES 175 yards per game. Cassels average QBR of the last 4 years is 44.5 Joe Flaccos is 57.7 You don't truly understand how bad we have it in KC, do you? |
Not a retread IMO. Flacco will get a big $$$ deal from Baltimore.
The retread QB that fits the Chiefs profile would be Tony Romo. I could see the Chiefs letting Albert and Bowe walk claiming they were asking for too much $$$$. Pioli could then justify an LT with our Smith/Barkley pick after overspending with a fat contract for Romo(his Father in Law originially signed him in Dallas IIRC). |
Quote:
I would 1000x draft Geno and let Flacco pass right on by. That said, if KC goes after, and lands, Flacco... I'm not gonna run around flipping tables and shitting in buffets. |
Quote:
|
WOW, this is how bad Cassel is...
During all his time in Kansas City...going all the way back to his first start in 2009...Matt Cassel has only completed 43 passes that traveled 20 or more yards in the air. Thats basically 3 full seasons and he averages LESS THAT ONE COMPLETION PER GAME OF 20 YARDS OR MORE. In Joe Flaccos last two full seasons, he has completed 44 passes over 21 yards in the air. Flacco did in 2 seasons what it took Cassel to do in three. |
Anybody that thinks they won't franchise him is living in denial.

I love it when Sac isnt talking about the OL.
IMO he is a top 30 poster when he isnt. |
Instead of bringing in yet another cast off, I'd much rather take a chance on someone with a much higher ceiling.
Flacco is barely an above average QB. |
