Possible Honeymoon destinations?

I guess the males family pays for the honeymoon portion of a wedding. So, I want to avoid asking my father for help towards this. We have been together for a year now and we are getting married May 21, 2011. I'm on a budget for this, so where should we go? I have no clue as to where to take her. She has traveled to Europe and always talks about going overseas again. I don't think I can afford something like that. I was thinking Florida or somewhere near a beach. Maybe somewhere near a good lake. How much would an estimate be on a honeymoon like that?

Thanks for the help.

Do the Carribbean, or Jamaica. Prices are low right now for the entire region.

We went to Lake Tahoe. I don't recall what it cost, and it was 17 yrs ago so it likely wouldn't be applicable now anyway.

First question is, what's your budget?

Second question is, what are both of your hobbies that you two can enjoy doing while on a vacation?

Jerry Springer!!!!!!

seriously, congrats.
check on-line for places in southern Mo. or Northern Ark. for a cabin on a lake someplace that you can rent a boat for a few days too.

Peace and quiet for those "HORNEYmoon" moments and go out on the water for some fun.

good luck. just don't start off deep in debt over a honeymoon that's over in a week or two but debt that lasts for years. IMHO

Budget? I have no clue, I've got a feeling that my budget is going to force us to go to a city and just stay in a decent hotel and enjoy the area.

She likes going to the lake, historical stuff.

The El Conquistador Hotel in Puerto Rico.

Great suites, casino, beachfront, all kinds of activities ... spa, sailing, snorkeling, etc. Nice place. Not too expensive. Lots to do. Good shopping if you want to go full on tourist on the island.

What about Miami? South Beach.

I did the Dominican Republic a year ago. It was all-inclusive everything. It was amazing and I highly recommend it. I did all types of research and it was the best deal for the money.

You can get to the islands just as inexpensively ... and have a much more memorable and enjoyable time, Mr. Dunit35. Seriously.

How can I figure out how much a flight+hotel would cost? Travelocity only goes forward 90 days.

This place is $630.

Catalina Hotel in South Beach?

I have no clue what I'm looking for (never flown before) and it's driving me nuts.

Shoot me some ideas.
