April 21st

I remember reading on here, in some article, that the Chiefs decision would be made 4 days before the draft. I believe it may have even been Dorsey's quote, if I'm not mistaken.

It's random that he would throw out such a specific fact.

I wonder if we begin the signing process and if the pick info will leak that day; or if we will play it tight to the vest all the way up until we are on the clock in the event that a trade occurs.

Seems like the trend has been to not keep it a secret in recent years. It would be fitting that it would change when we are in the first slot.

They know who they want to pick if they can't get a trade to go through.

Hopefully that's when any trades are in place. This time last year, STL already had a boat load of picks to plan for.

traditionally, the 1st overall pick is usually signed during that period and if not then there will be some wheeling and dealing from there to draft day.

I suspect that the 4 day declaration was based on whatever process they have going for setting their draft board. I'm sure they have workouts and meetings scheduled and mapped out in advance and the meeting being held 4 days before the draft is the one where they finalize the top end of their draft board.

I don't think there's much need to negotiate in advance anymore, now that rookie salaries aren't crazy. The only potential issue is the possibility of running into a John Elway/Eli Manning situation where a guy just says he won't play for you at any price, but that's not going to be happening this year.

Don't know patteu - wouldn't mind Jokel refusing playing for us

Yep, especially when Von Miller is former teammate said that Joeckel is easy to Pwn.

Yeah, but he's got to be the one that wants that to happen.

Joke will only play for Jacksonville

I will say, if, somehow, some way, we DO draft geno #1, or anything other than a tackle, Teicher should lose his ****ing job, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Name dropping Joeckel has been bordering on Tourettes Syndrome in his articles this draft season.

Get your cyanide ready.

Why? The Chiefs aren't going 2-14 again next year unlike a certain team in FLA. It still won't be enough to outsuck the Raiders though ROFL

Our chance at drafting a franchise qb shot to hell for another 20 years...
