Looking for Microsoft Office 2010 for Home & Business

Why the hell is is so much more expensive than 2013? Wow. Anyplace I can get it cheaper? I only need it for 1 user. Attorney finally got a new computer (after 7 years). The rest of us already have it.

Why buy old software? Get the newest version. It's cheaper, does everything 2010 does and more, and will be supported much longer. Getting old software just to conform with what the other computers have is bad form, and will cost you a lot more in the long run.

2013 is a piece of junk, that's probably why 2010 is more expensive.

open office

to be fair, my experience with each of them is based on how they run in Citrix or Terminal Services, but 2013 was a mess the last time we tried to stage it on our servers.

don't fall for it, she's really a federal agent phishing for pirated software. :)

Libre office would be my suggestion if going the free route.

FYI... if you're just needing Word, Excel, Powerpoint without really advanced functionality, you can sign up for MS Skydrive, and use their web based Office apps for free. That also gets you 7GB of online storage for free. Works anywhere from just a web browser. It also works great on the iPad, so you can create Office documents on your iPad in exactly the same manner you would on the computer.

My boss only needs it to be able to open stuff. I do all of his documents, and I'm on 2010. He's 60+ years old with zero computer knowledge. He recently went from a flip phone to the iPhone 5. I'm getting a big enough headache teaching him how to use it. He will probably retire before really needing to upgrade again. If 2010 can last him about five years, we're golden.
