Because they have younger players who are prepared to step in and take over for veterans on the downslope of their careers. Me thinks it's a bad idea for this team to be overly concerned with the plight of a Dallas team in a much different situation.

Looking at his numbers, it appears he's had some injuries in two of the last three seasons, and his 2007 season was something of a abberation.

Age and injuries could be an issue, so signing him may or may not be as black and white as it appears to you initially.
Acquiring players in the NFL is never black and white, but that's hardly a reason not to try to improve your team when opportunities present themselves.

If he fits the program and can be had cheap for a year or two, make it happen.

That said, I'd be much more thrilled about acquiring someone's kick ass, geriatric Right Tackle.

I haven't watched a lot of the Cowboys, so I don't really know, but it seems he's missed a number of games over the last two or three years, so injury has to be a concern.

His 8 sacks last season are twice what Vrabel had and 22 more sacks in his career. I'm all for it.

Happened to notice he was born on the exact same day as Vrabel...8/14/75.

The Chiefs do know that the 3-4 has nothing to do with having a team full of 34 year olds, right?

They decided that they had bigger needs in the draft than linebacker so they don't have many options at this point.
