That's ****ing bullshit man. Jake Long actually only gave up negative one sack, the PFF guys just don't know the blocking assignments.

Pasta Little Brioni 02-22-2013 06:10 PM

But he's JAKE LONG!!!! Let that bum Alberts walk and take Jokell.

Hammock Parties 02-22-2013 06:11 PM

Jake Long has actually NEVER allowed a sack and has NEVER been beaten on any play...people just don't know what they're watching.

Due to injury, he can't stay healthy... and that is why you don't sign him unless that changes... otherwise you are taking a huge gamble. BUT if we are playing fantasyland and assuming they have the same contract numbers we may as well assume they are both completely healthy... and in that case you take Long, no contest.

I'd say that Long has the same health issues as Albert.

Albert passing his physical does not mean that his back is 100%.

I want to re-sign Albert, but if they both command the same money, I will take Long.

Deberg_1990 02-22-2013 06:28 PM

They are basically the same guy. Brothers from different mothers.

Says who?

The team has continuously said he had a back INJURY.

This idea that he has chronic back issues is pure media speculation and nothing more.

Actually if Albert still has back issues that is far worse than Long's bicep/tricep issue that have been his main problem. A good trainer could help Long but no trainer in the world can fix a dodgy back. BUT I don't think Albert's back is going to be an issue and I can't imagine he will try to demand the type of contract Long will want.

That really depends on the type of back issue, as not all back injuries are created equal.

I got in a car wreck my senior year of high school that left me in some pretty serious back pain for a few years. I essentially had to give up golf because I couldn't hit more than 30-40 balls at a time without pretty severe spasms. However, once I figured out the importance of stretching my iliopsoas group, that pain went away almost entirely. I'll have a flare up of sciatica about once a year, but nowhere near to the extent I used to.

Disc problems aren't fixable. Muscle issues are.

Completely agree. I am also NOT sold on the idea that Albert has any real back issues so it's all academic.

Exactly.

He had a back injury. Acute.

There's nothing out there (other than media speculation) that suggest he has back problems. Chronic.
