Sandy Hook Demolition
 

So apparently the Sandy Hook task force recommended that they demolish the school and rebuild. I just don't see how that helps the kids involved and would be a huge waste of taxpayer money. What do you guys and gals think?

Probably a good idea considering there was a mass murder there...

There was a mass murder on the land too. Shouldn't they move it? There was a mass murder in the town. Maybe they shouldn't go to school in the town either. Where do you draw the line?

Logically at the building. You're the one going across the line.

I wouldn't be against it. It would be kind of hard sittitng in a classroom where 20 6yr olds were murdered.

Why not just the room?

If the parents and teachers want to fund it privately out of their own pockets, go for it. But not a dime of taxpayer money should be involved in something like that.

How am I being obtuse? Do you think they should demolish every building where a tragedy occurs? God forbid but do you think they would recommend this if someone opened fire and killed several kids in a monument or museum?

Rebuild it. Give them a new school with better security.

Or they could do like they did with the McDonalds in San Ysidro. They tore the building down and rebuilt it a couple of blocks away.

I may be in the minority that agrees with you here.

Change the name of the town.

Only after a public vote. If the town is for it and wants to pay for it through taxes, then great. If not, I don't see why they couldn't just do some renovations.
