something to consider is the elevation of Vail -- it'll knock the shit outta your energy for a few days.

Damn it, now I want to go skiing...

I live in Fort Collins, it's not right up in the mountains but it's a nice town with lots to do. There are tons of restaurants and breweries, and Old Town has great shopping (also check out the Armstrong Hotel). Estes Park and RMNP are about an hour drive, so it's easy to get up there and see the sights.

No biggie. According to Ravens safety Bernard Pollard, all you need to do is do some jogging when you get off the plane.

Vail is expensive, but if your wife is into shopping, that's where you want to take her.

Estes Park is great. If you are a fan of The Shining, you can stay at the Stanley hotel; it was Stephen King's inspiration for The Overlook; supposedly haunted (if you believe in that sort of thing).

LOL @ the Ghost Adventure Package.... $20 cheaper than the normal rate and it comes with a REDRUM mug!

Don't fly to Denver International. It's just a front for government sponsored mind control.

Stay in Frisco, hang out there and in Breck. That could work.

I'm not a fan of Breck's massive, cavernous hotels. It feels like you're in a hospital or some massive government facility. But the town is nice.

tour the weed dispensaries...

haha, no way! My wife is so going to make me go there now.

You can always stay in Dillon (or Frisco) and have access to any number of ski areas - Breck, Keystone (we usually stay a week at River Run), Copper and Arapaho Basin.

Each have different things to do. Tubbing at Keystone is a blast and at the River Run area they have several nice places to eat and drink. Dillon has a couple of nice places as well.

Long story short......

Wife & I's anniversary is coming up next month. Looking to take her away for a couple days to Colorado. I've been looking at Vail, or Estes Park, etc. Just not sure what's a good semi romantic place to go. Looking for some quiet together time, but a place with some decent food & nightlife.

Hoping some of you can give me some suggestions.

Look at Steamboat as well.
