Because the Royals have been so good over the last 28 years......

If they end with a losing record, DM might just quit because 9 year at the helm is plenty enough to make the playoffs. He built up a farm system and took it in the butt several years at the MLB level to build.....for this????

I guess I'll continue to talk myself through games like this....

...How may times have we seen Royals teams have brilliant Aprils only to be mathematically eliminated by Aug 1? Its more important that they finish strong.

If our offensive output is going to be .750 ground outs, .250 singles, its going to be a frustrating season.

This is what happens when professional franchises accept mediocrity instead of condemning it with vigor. When you worry too much about what might happen to a seasoned veteran's "dome" (at any point in the season), you are telling the players that it's OK to not produce. And while we all know how to parrot phrases like, "you have to play loose" and "you're trying too hard", we also know that it's an enabler for mediocrity.

I certainly wasn't advocating that "leadership" throw the players under the bus in front of the media "before", but now it might be in the best interest of the franchise to be a little more factual with what the players are, and aren't, doing in various aspects of their game.

At this point Esky should hear a loud BOOOOOOO every time he enters the batters box. If that's too unkind (and we are kind to a fault here in KC - ask Winston!), perhaps he should hear crickets as sort of a silent protest.

Boy I'm glad we have this stellar defense to only hit singles and not score runs, I'd rather score 8 runs a game and lose then not score any runs at all.

What does that have to do with anything?

For comparison, Huntington took over the Pirates a year after Moore took over the Royals and they are already a playoff team.

No excuses for this crap. None.

How many rebuilds has Cleveland been successful at since we have gone to the playoffs? It's pretty amazing how inept we are
