Bringing alcohol on a plane as your carry on?

By now a lot of people know you can bring your own alcohol on an airplane as a carry on as long as it adheres to the 3oz rule and 1 quart baggie rule.

It is illegal to pour your own drink on board, but has anybody thought about asking the flight attendant to pour the little drink for you?

I'm heading out to Vegas in a couple days and plan to do it the right way, and I'm not paying the $7 per drink on the plane.

That's a great idea. Let me know if you can! I was unaware of the bring your own drink on board concept too, so nice to know. Last time I flew they didn't trust you with anything so had to throw away liquids before getting on the plane.

I bought 5 of those little whiskey bottles from the liquor store for about $2-$3 each.

Getting them on the plane as carry on is perfectly legal, just the mixing your own drink thing is what raises my curiosity.

Even if they won't pour it for me, I'll say **** em and pour it in my coke when they aren't looking!

Meh, if you do it and are smart about it, no Issue. What they don't know, won't hurt them.

Do not let Bogey in this thread please.

Yeah it's not that hard to slip something in a cup of soda, especially if you have a window seat, but if the attendants do have an issue with it, I wonder if they would pour it for me. I believe the only reason they won't let you pour your own is because they want to moderate your alcohol intake. Don't want people acting like idiots on the plane.

You NEED to drink that bad?

MahiMike 07-19-2013 08:21 PM

I remember when I used to come back from Europe w/2 cases of beer and 2 cases of wine. I still managed to bring back about 6 bottles this time. But not in my carry on.

Damn terrorists are still winning.

My thoughts as well. Just wait till you get off the plane. I've never understood why people get toasted while flying???

If you fly first class the drinks are free.

Some people fear it. Some people need to sleep.

Have you ever been on 15 hour flights before? There's pretty much nothing to do other than read, eat, watch an in-flight movie and drink.

Or, if you're heading to party in Vegas or Cabo, there's nothing like a little Pre-arrival drinking to get the party started.
