Percy Harvin is hitting the vaporizer
Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings
According to Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole, Percy Harvin is targeting a deal in the range of Calvin Johnson's as opposed to Dwayne Bowe or Vincent Jackson. Harvin considers himself a "special" player and reportedly wants $16.5 annually, which would put him right behind Megatron ($18.8M average) and ahead of Larry Fitzgerald ($16.06M). Bowe and Jackson, the NFL's third and fourth highest-paid wideouts, collect $11.2M and $11.1M per year, respectively. Per Cole, Harvin "threatened to walk out on the team" last offseason after hearing the Patriots gave Aaron Hernandez a contract extension after only two NFL seasons. "[The Vikings are] in a tough spot," one source told Cole. "If you don't take some aggressive action, this could get really bad." Harvin seems 50:50 to be a Viking in 2013. Per rotoworld.com |
He's "special" alright...
|
LMAO
|
And everyone wonders why there is the talk of the Vikings targeting Wallace.

Sounds like the kind of guy you could give $20MM a year to and he would be broke 5 years after he retires. |
Sounds like a dude with a posse.
|
If we are going just purely by stats, the guy is just a notch below. Hes never even had a 1000 yard recieving season.
|
Harvin is a special player; however, I think his injury history has to come into play.
Megatron is elite! I can't imagine another WR getting that kind of money. I've always thought Fitzgerald was overhyped and overpaid. Just because the Cards made a mistake doesn't mean other teams should do the same. IMO Harvin should probably be paid near what Bowe received. Not because of his receiving prowess but because of his ability to run the ball and do KR. Most likely though, if he gets a big contract they won't want to risk injury with the KR and he would just be a WR or getting balls out of the backfield dramatically decreasing his impact on the game. |
I wanted him before, but after reading that we need to avoid him like the plague.
|
Bowe is a bargain compared to what Harvin is asking for.
If I had to pick one of the 2 I take Bowe everyday. |

Could Mitchigan Qb/WR Doonard Robenson be a poor man's Purcy Harvan?

JFC if he wants that much. No one will trade for him with those demands.

Smart move by Percy. He wants to put that so high so he gets out of Minnesota, a team that's going nowhere fast. Mercy Percy!
|
We must have him!/Bad Guy

B. You said they were going nowhere fast, and I pointed out how they made the playoffs. It doesn't matter how they got there, they were good enough to make the playoffs. C. Do you know what a moot argument is? Them going to the playoffs is not uncertain or doubtful. It happened, dumbshit. |
What do you think of Landry? Apparently you guys are releasing him.
|
there's only 1 Megatron. Harvin is a dumbass. Can't stay healthy and hasn't even reached the 1,000 yd season milestone for his career. And he thinks he's Calvin ****ing Johnson?
|
wow, i didnt even think he was the best all around player in his own division. that would be randall cobb. but to put himself in calvins territory?
Thats pretty funny |

Let me guess, your all around better player, AP, but do you understand the concept of complete player? As in randall cobb lines up every where is a dangerous returner, rushes, and carries the ball, and unlike harvin isnt always hurt? can you please name me a player that fits that criteria in the nfc north? Im really not trying to troll, but in my opinion, Randall Cobb > Percy Harvin. |
The fact that Cobb has ten rushes makes him a "complete player"?
Clearly your definition is different than mine. Randall Cobb isn't even the best player on his own team. Jesus. |
Please don't quote that dumbass ASF.
|
any large contract guarantee's more playing time that he's been salivating for. if he gets a mediocre contract odds are he'll get the same amount of playing time he got last year and the year before under Frazier which isn't enough to him.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Vikings trying to trade WR Percy Harvin and are in discussions with Seahawks, amongst other teams, per team sources. Seahawks favored. |
Wow. That would be a good trade for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks and Vikings have agreed to a trade that send Harvin to Seattle for draft picks, pending Harvin passing a physical Done deal |
Probably why they cant sign Jason Jones. All their cap belong to Harvin.
|
It's funny if he ends up there with Rice. Those two sure looked tough that year Favre went on a tear.
|
They can pay Harvin big $$ when their QB will be earning peanuts for at least 2 more years.

This leaves the cupboards pretty bare in Minnesota as far as receiving talent is concerned. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Tavon Austin with their 1st rounder.
|
Anyone think they got a First?

That's a good get for the 'Hawks. They desperately needed a playmaker at WR.

Percy Harvin is getting a new contract, too, with the basic parameters nearly done. He will be a happy man. |

Harvin should be ecstatic then.
New contract? Check. Real QB? Check. Legalized Pot? Check. |

Any trade between MINN and SEA for Percy Harvin, which still is being finalized, is expected to include Seahawks' 2013 first-round pick. |
Seattle is so smart and good.

Pete Carroll gets a better Reggie Bush.

The NFC West went from horrible to damn good pretty quickly.

John Clayton @ClaytonESPN
The Seahawks gave up at least a first-round pick in the Harvin trade. |
Seattle trading first rounder. LOL at the people here that said they wouldn't have traded a 2nd for him.
|
So now the Vikings literally have NOTHING at WR.
I don't see them getting Jennings or Wallace in FA. I wonder if they go Patterson with their original 1st round pick. |

That's a lot to give up for a disgruntled player who wants a huge payday. I understand he's a good fit in Seattle, and should fit in well there, but Damn.
|
Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Seattle sends this years first round pick and a 7th rounder as well as a mid-round pick next year for Harvin. Win-win for both teams HOLY SHIT |

You can laugh at Seattle all day long. But they are a legit Super Bowl contending frontrunner now.
|
I think the huge salary demand was just to fast track himself out of Minnesota. I don't think there is any chance he signs for that much.
|
Harvin adds a whole new dimension to their offense. Well worth the compensation.
|
Tavon Austin and cost less.
