Dude, what game are you watching? That pitch was so far inside..it was ntohing close to a strike and Cabrera took it yard. That is not on Shields in any way, shape or form.

I know.. but Shields gives up first inning runs every game. You continually have to hope he only gives up 1 in the first.

This isn't about just this game, Shields gives up first inning runs every time. That is why he doesn't have the wins, while the team comes back to win.

I do believe we have 8 wins in Shields' last 8 starts. It's not his fault the offense sucks.

You can't expect him to allow 1 run a game, every game. We just knocked Verlander around for 6 last night. Even top-drawer pitchers will give up runs.
