Buddies Comp is laggy/slow

So my buddy plays a MMO game. He has a ton a lag, little glitches when he plays it. He has a brand new large Nvidia video card, and it doesn't matter what resolution settings he's on, he gets laggy glitches.

What exactly should he be looking at for possible problems/solutions? I checked for malware, i checked for extra unneeded programs, his internet connection is good...

Before i go too much into it, i'd like to ask the pro's here so i don't waste too much time on it.

Some MMOs are pretty demanding of processors. World of Warcraft leans more on gpu than graphics card.

Update video drivers.
Tweak video settings.
Test with another game.
Run video benchmarks, compare them to known values for that card.

Need to know more about the rest of his hardware.

Which processor?

How much ram?

Also....does he have a power supply to support that Graphics card? Some of those massive card's need an upgraded power supply.

Well what game?

Aion is the game. I'll have to try to get more details as well. He didn't have them handy

Check the game settings -- maybe set a fixed FPS.

Tell him he can't combine the gaming computer with the porn computer.

Try dumping a cup of water on the motherboard to cool it off.
