Martinez, Jenkins, Adams for Tulo. Done.

You're paying an extra $84 million for 1 extra season of Tulo (a season you probably won't want) and including Adams in the deal as well.

I know he's probably a better player and a more proven commodity, but damn - that's a HUGE gamble.

I don't think I'd do it. Tulo has 2 or 3 'prime' seasons left, then another 4 decline years. He also has home/road splits that you really shouldn't ignore. Granted, on the road he's still quite good, but he's not $20 mil/season worth of good. Additionally, with a handful of lower body injuries in his career, he may well have to switch to 3b for the latter half of that deal.

Nah, I'd rather have Castro, his contract and his pricetag.

I don't think there's a ss out there to be had that doesn't have some gamble to him.

Tulo might be the biggest gamble, for sure. But he potentially brings the most to the table.

Probably not, but what does Adams have?

An absence of serious injury concern.

The guy has 800 ABs in the high minors of absolutely destroying minor league pitching. And in the majors he had 2 separate ungodly hot streaks.

There's not a hole in his swing as much as his approach absolutely fell to hell in October - as did the approach of just about everyone else. When he's locked in, he spits on that down and away pitch (as is the case with every powerful LH hitter). When he's not, he doesn't recognize the break/location and he strikes out.

There's no reason to believe that he's more likely to be 'off' his entire career. In fact, he's a a good bet to improve substantially, IMO.

You guys want to keep posting here? If so we should close the 2014 thread.

Up to you guys
