Obama's three Day Bus ride....$$$$$$$

(CBS News) — The U.S. Secret Service has two new buses in its fleet for President Obama to use on his 3-day Midwest bus trip starting today.

An official tells CBS News the buses were purchased in recent months and will serve as part of the fleet of vehicles the Secret Service uses for all of its protectees.

In the past, the Secret Service would lease buses as needed and outfit them with the security and communications equipment as needed.

“We have not been satisfied with the level of protection offered by leased buses,” said a Secret Service official.

Another official said the buses cost the service $1.1-million and are of a size and make the Secret Service finds most suitable for its equipment and protective requirements.

At least we can look forward to him being on vacation for 10 days after his bus tour/campaign swing through the upper midwest. What harm can he do to us while he's on vacation ?

You forgot the rest of the article:

"This is reportedly the first time a contender for the office of the President of the United States will be campaigning for his own election."

I am very confused. I thought people have campaigned for the job before. Who campaigned for it before, surrogates?

Pretty much. Obama is the first person to raise money and spend it on a presidential campaign. In previous years, other people would raise money and spend it on someone else's election. Obama is setting a dangerous trend here.
