Recommend a String Weed trimmer

I'm tired of buying a wal mart cheapo that last 2-3 years and craps out. I want an electric trimmer that will stand up to a yearly beating. I don't have the time or inclination to futz around with a gas trimmer. My cap is $175

...or come mow my yard :harumph:

Yea, I had to learn that one the hard way too.
My Ryobi has been pretty reliable, so far.

Love my Toro.

Should be plenty of non-entitled Mexicans down there in Texas that will do it for $10.

Yeah, you don't want a rechargeable one unless you have a really small yard. I used to have an electric WeedEater brand trimmer that worked good until one day when the plug on it melted.

I had, I think, an old toro plugin model. The motor started on fire, but by then it was 10 years old. Tried a craftsman plugin that just like to spit out line and chop up my leg.

RedMax. I've had one for 10+ years and it is a workhorse!

Just spoke with Lab Counterpart because he bought one at the end of last year and he says he loves it. He said it does take a battery and a half to get through his yard, which does have a lot of trimming and edging, but he loves the light weight. Only thing he said he doesn’t like is the automatic line feed doesn’t let the line get as long as he’d prefer working with.
