For real. This was mainstream advertising and completely normal and accepted. Unbelievable.

Why are #24 and #37 the same? Am I missing something?

10, 15 and 25 are in the running for the worst. I'd have to say 25 is my most offensive leader in the clubhouse though.

Where is the sexist thread? I want to see the 41 most sexist ads. I like seeing barefoot pregnant women slaving away in the kitchen for their superior husbands. Bring on the women drivers, I say! Where are the sexist ads? :hmmm:

I thought the cross-eyed japs was pretty bad.

I think it was interesting that blacks using a product spoke to it's value/quality. The soap and tobacco ads in particular. Kind of "backwards" thinking in those times.

I don't think all of those are racist. Racism to me stems out of harboring the idea that your race is inherently superior to another. Depicting a stereotype is not really the same thing.

Is that really racist? I don't see anything here that demeans this person, unless you consider showing him in what was probably thought to be authentic dress to be demeaning.

The word racist gets misused alot. Racist implies hate. alot of these ads are just the ignorance of society at the time.
