Vermeil Press conference....Fins-Bolts

on now

Iowanian 10-24-2005 10:53 AM

Coaches in yesterday and today doing game prep.
Team off today, in tomorrow and will start Wednesday preparations on Teusday

marty's team has lost 4 games by a minimal score

Medically guys "dinged"...too early to give designations. Will know more wednesday. The big advanatage of the early game, is more days to rehab

Expects to find the Chargers "ready for combat" and mentally tough.

Nothing new there... heartbreak Marty.

Iowanian 10-24-2005 10:56 AM

Recalls last years game, never expects to have his team play like that again.

Apparent there are just "more good teams" in the league this year. The entire league is just more competative. Expects more close football games. Mistakes and injuries will have critical effects and contribute to success and failure within a game

maintaining through adversity is important. Credits himself, coaches and teams for overcoming back to back losses with 2 wins.

4-2 and appreciates what it takes to do that....recognizes they were 2-4 last year and won 8-11....thinks the Chiefs are better team than last year...going the right direction.

(insert expected schedule gripe)

Iowanian 10-24-2005 10:57 AM

going into week 8...feels the defense has made great improvement.

Offense appears to be "ascending"...qb and oline also ascending....Will shields is starting to play better.

Defense has been "restricting some good offensive teams"

Kicker and punter getting better and playing well...Slamming Colquit for bad kick(irony?)

Iowanian 10-24-2005 10:58 AM

Punt return team has to do better. Punt returning team has to knock off the blocks in the back.

If he's right, and team is growing...must prove it in Sandy Eggo, Sunday.

Thinks it comes down to team that doesn't make mistake.

BigRedChief 10-24-2005 10:59 AM

Ask him about McCleon. Who starts?

Iowanian 10-24-2005 10:59 AM

Can't allow Sandy eggo players to "make that 1 unbelievable play"...

SProles averaging what Hall is on kick returns. LdT..Gates by name.

believes the chiefs preparation will go soundly and putting "the right guys on the plane at the right time negates thier homefield and gives them the chance to win"

Iowanian 10-24-2005 11:01 AM

thinks our division is very tough...not "down".

Q/A session
thinks division is very competative...this is the Chiefs last division road game....sets up for success at home

NFCE has been down but is very very tough now.

Iowanian 10-24-2005 11:02 AM

The Endings of the Sandy Eggo and Denver games were "ubelievable nfl games"
**

Warfield will start.....Warfield did a great job, though he wasn't challenged. Our Pass rush was excellent vs Miami...took heat off secondary.

8 qb hits, 18 qb pressures and 1 sack vs miami

Iowanian 10-24-2005 11:05 AM

John Browning looking better...more like cramps than tear.....Says Browning is "amazing dlilnemen"

Sammy Parker will be out, but "on the mend"...getting 2nd opinion to verify what he was told by Chiefs staff. Gives peace of mind of player/agent and team.

McCleon is NOT ruled out....AC bruise?

Iowanian 10-24-2005 11:06 AM

Miami game prep.....did everything they normally did, but "walked through" thursday instead of full pad practice.

had 21/2hr practice wednesday, and wouldn't have done that if he'd known the team was playing friday.

Experience of football team, enabled them to do what they did....Green and Oline are so good, they can retain amazing amount with little prep...with exception of Jordan Black who needs the work.

Lzen 10-24-2005 11:06 AM

Warfield will start? Great news. :thumb:

Who would have thunk that 4 years ago?:hmmm:

Iowanian 10-24-2005 11:09 AM

Young athletes who have never been injured...don't know "how to handle" the injury sometimes....sometimes think its worse than it is.....this visit should give parker peace of mind.

"you lose more games you should have won, than win games you should have lost...remember that"
