Off-Season priority, Special Teams...

Well, what do we need?

Saulbadguy 12-08-2004 02:14 PM

I choose punter. There are quite a few punters that could be drafted in this draft. Personally, i'm a Matt Payne homer.

Stay in your lanes, guys...

Both Cheek and Tynes have shown me both good and bad. There has been precious little good from our coverage teams. I suspect that is because our “star” ST guys are injured.

Definitely wants better kick coverage next season.

Saulbadguy 12-08-2004 02:20 PM

I personally think our poor coverage is due to lack of hang time on our punts.

New Kick/Punt returner.

:)

I'm ok with Tynes, but I don't think Steve Cheek is getting it done.

Last's weeks box score:
NO. AVG. TD LG.
S. Cheek 2 32.0 0 34
S. Lechler 3 43.3 0 66

Hmmm....

If that were the case, then our kickoff coverage would not also suck.

That is not to say that I am pleased with the hang time for punts or depth on kickoffs, but the common factor seems to be bad coverage.

Realizes it could be a chicken/egg scenario.

Yes, our depths for kickoffs also suck. Kicking it off to the 10/15 is inexcusable.
