wifi help

Okay, so I have this new HP ipaq rz1715 with an SD card slot. I would like to get online with it wirelessly.

Now, I know that it says it is Wi-Fi compatable. But I would like to know if this thingy is what I should get. Also, I already have a 802.11g/2.4 GHz wireless router, so would I need to get anything else?

Thanks a lot.

That looks like what you would need.

as long as your ipaq has an SDIO slot, then yes. You can also get those cards with 256MB storage built in to the same card as well.

That card says "Enables device connection to 802-11b access point"... may not be compatible w/ your 802.11g.... better double-check first.

802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b. The 802.11b card will connect to an 802.11g AP at 11Mbits/sec...

Nevermind... 802.11g is backwards-compatible w/ 802.11b (I just checked the RFC). You should be gtg w/ that card :thumb:

So... in other words, I can buy this card and it will work in my house.
