We need a probowl DB, right?
-per Rotoworld
The Dolphins are rumored to be looking to trade cornerback Patrick Surtain. He has one expensive year left on his contract. He may not fit Miami's new defense, which may veer away from constant press coverage. Don't know what we could give for him, but I sure would like to have him. |
Perhaps we could package Bartee, Scanlan and a 7th round draft pick.
|
One expensive year left? No thanks.
|
I think he is a stud.
|
Yes...but not for Larry Johnson.
|
We HAVE a Pro-Bowl DB.
We need one that is GOOD. |

To trade for a guy means we would have to part with players and pick, plus take on a big salary. Dream on.

The Dolphons will want draft picks for their new head coach. There is no way the Chiefs can afford to lose anything about a 4th round pick to get a player.
|
Why not trade a couple of draft picks for a pro bowl corner. The draft is a crap shoot as is free agency
|
Surtain's awfully good....
If we were to make a trade, Miami would make sense, as they need a quality running back-and Johnson fits their offensive mold. We could then re-sign Blaylock to spell Holmes. Miami needs a proven runner NOW. Johnson's late season production would make him mighty tempting, I should think. With Surtain and Warfield, we'd have two quality corners and could draft best defensive athlete available. IF we could work a restructure into the deal, it'd be worth pulling the trigger. No point in having Johnson share carries with the best back in the league if we can't get to the 'bowl before Roaf, Shields, Green, and company all retire anyway. Chris |
We won't be trading Larry Johnson. Sorry.

Has the cornerback market crashed yet? If not, let's buy low after everyone has figured out that the league has emasculated the cornerback position.
