Any Art lovers here?
I have a large canvass painting by Richard Dupont, it has number written on the frame and has a stamp on the back of the canvass saying the artist approved reproductions, it also has a brass plate on the bottom of the framing of the canvass with DuPont written on it, it is a signed painting.
My friend says she has heard of him? It has a piece of paper on the back of the frame saying he is a well known artist of the Eastern United States that is known for his unusual talents of seascape artistery. We took a pic this morning to send to Cristies of New York, anybody have any ideas on the painting, or the artist? I heard the numbers on the back of the frame meant it once hung in a museum. I bought it at an estate auction, in San Antonio, the woman who lived in the house had died and she was 93 years old, and her daughter said she remembers it being in their house as long as she can remember. |
I thought he was the host on Family Feud.

DUPONT, Richard John Munro (1920-1977)
His original paintings bring ~$1,000 a repro one like you have I'd guess $50 - $150. Dave |
I'll trade you a car window for it.

I saw some four-year old girl whose parents claimed she was an abstract artist, and she has already commanded a lot of money for her works.
But, she was then later exposed as a fraud. |
That's the problem with this world. Too many lying, greedy four year-olds.
