Why I think we'll go the cheaper route with Trotter instead of Hartwell...

Not a bad theory.

Trotter, Ian Gold and Lucas. That would be a pretty good (realistic) FA Harvest (I'd like K. Bell too). We can then add another CB (Carlos Rogers? Eric Green?) in the draft.

But I think Hartwell would be a BETTER long term investment than Trotter!

I have my doubts. Actually, I just read somewhere on here where Carl, et al are thinking of bringing in a safety so your "cheaper" theory may have some merit only it might be 1 LB, 1 CB and 1 safety. Then we will probably get another CB in the draft and (hopefully) a DE in the draft.

Because ours struggled last year. Woods, especially, played poorly.

I would prefer to draft a safety in the middle rounds, because more urgent needs are at CB and LB.

Maybe I'm the only one who saw Trotter blowing up plays? He really is the best MLB out there right now.

Hartwell has played in nothing but a 3-4 defense. Trotter has 4-3 experience. If Hartwell could make the transition then maybe Hartwell could be the better deal. Money should be the last concern at this point.

The only question on Trotter is about the last time he left the Eagles and signed a big contract with the Skins....it didn't turn out too well. However, Jim Johnson and Gunther Cunningham run similar styles of an attacking defense, so that should be right up Trotter's alley.

Yea I definitly saw it too. He was the very dominante during the Eagles playoff run and was huge factor in their defensive improvement in the second half. If Trotter is in fact cheaper than Hartwell it will be a huge score for us.

It's because we're cheap and don't care as much about winning as we do about putting butts in the stands.
