Off season grades

Post em.

I give our FO an A+.

beer bacon 04-23-2005 04:06 PM

A+

98% instead of 100% because of the Rolle fiasco :)

DJ bumps it from an A- to an A+

Phobia 04-23-2005 04:07 PM

I'll wait for the rest of our picks, but it's pretty high at the moment.

Take a Safety or TE with our 3rd round pick and it drops at least 1 spot.

Tribal Warfare 04-23-2005 04:09 PM

I must say a strong A+

Agreed.

I'm thinking A-/A right now...screw the pooch on the rest of the draft and I'd say B+/A-, depending on how how hard they screw it.

I really think they're set up for a SOLID A if they don't go absolutely nuts.

The Chiefs have went from:

OLB-Fujita
MLB-Mitchell
OLB-Biesel

CB-Warfield
CB-McCleon
FS-Woods
SS-Wesley

To this:

OLB-Fujita
MLB-Bell
OLB-DJ

CB-Surtain
CB-Warfield
FS-Wesley
SS-Knight

A+

The back 7 has chance to be an athletic, attacking group that will cause a ton of turnovers. If Sims, Hicks, Hall, and Savaii do anything this defense could be special.

Mr. Christopher 04-23-2005 04:19 PM

I give it an A- due to the fact that we didn't make a harder push for Hartwell. But look at the needs versus the way we addressed them.

Linebacker: one of our biggest needs, as there was no pass rush. Kendrell Bell brings a solid veteran experience and leadership in the middle that has been missing since Marvcus Patten. And Johnson has the potential of being a solid contributer at outside linebacker for years to come.

Secondary: Do I really have to say anything about a unit that got burned for over 4000 yards last season? Enter Sammy Knight, giving Wesely and Woods a kick in the ass, and fortifying a weakness this past year. And at corner, I don't believe that the Chiefs could have done much better than a proven Pro Bowler...better IMO than Ty Law who I believe will lose a step after his injury.

Mr. Kotter 04-23-2005 04:43 PM

B+...but all they need to make it an "A" is a serviceable and reliable WR to compete with Kennison, Parker, Boerigter, and Morton. I'm hopin' they find someone between now and TC....

Ultra Peanut 04-23-2005 04:44 PM

A so far... could be an A+ with some good picks.

David. 04-23-2005 04:52 PM

A right now, draft another CB and a WR and it'll be perfect.

StcChief 04-23-2005 04:55 PM

Right now. A- will see how rest of Draft/ player releases go.

CP and Lamar bucked up for some talent on D.

WR at this point.

SCTrojan 04-23-2005 05:05 PM

I'll give them an A with the caveat that it could change. There is still a long way to go in the draft, but they have addressed some great needs in the last two days. They can do even more in the next few rounds.

Terribilis 04-23-2005 05:06 PM

B+
...this offseason demanded more moves defensively then any in recent memory. CP has picked alot of solid guys up, but the Rolle and Hartwell incidents take the luster off a little bit. Get a good WR prospect, or pick up nice FA after June 1; and it will be an A
