What was the name of your hometown newspaper?
In my little town, the Harold-Patriot came out on Tuesday and the Leader came out on Thursday, both published at the same company.
I figure the Harold-Patriot was a merger before my time, and the Leader a later aquisition - so that was three papers for a little town of 5000. What was the name of your local fish wrap? |
When I was in High school the paper was the Toganoxie Mirror.
Pre high school I lived in KC so the paper was the Times/Star. I had a paper route and I had to deliver the paper two times a day. It sucked. Not only did it suck just to deliver the paper twice a day but my route was between Troost and Paseo. I'm white, bad combination. I had a gun pulled on me and I was robbed (for one dollar) while delivering the paper. |
Eastern Jackson Country Examiner.
|
We had the Journal Express - which was a combination, I guess - at some point before my time.
Des Moines had the Register for AM delivery and Tribune for evenings. At some point while I was a paper boy, they did away with the twice daily format and combined. |
I delivered the Register as well.
|
I used to deliver "The Leavenworth Times" in the afternoon M-F, and on Sunday A.M when I was a kid.
No Saturday edition |
The Sun-Sentinel or Miami Herald
|
Columbia Daily Tribune growing up.
Now it is the Clinton Daily News. |

Small town of 2500 had the Daily Chronicle in the 60's. Later became a weekly.
