Some college basketball memories... a fun little clip

Involves Mizzou, but it was sweet, regardless of who was involved.

ROFL

Well, that pretty much explains why their teams always implode...

Not cool. Not ****ing cool. A totally unprovoked shot across the bowl.

But if you were going to try to put me (even more) in the mood kill myself, one of these would have been more effective:

(The feet on the scorer's table that you see belong to Francisco Garcia, grabbing his neck in the "choke" sign... classy  )

I saw one of him laying on the floor with Cal and Hunt trying to pick him up, and it just ripped my heart out anew.

So fine, play that card...

But that was the past. Here's a glimpse of the future:

http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/18/183925.jpg
L-R: Shawne Williams (biggest recruit out of the city of Memphis since Penny Hardaway), Robert Dozier (yet another delicious wing), Kareem Cooper (he's 6'10", but the guy's got RANGE), and Antonio Anderson (looks are deceiving: he's 6'5" and one hell of an athlete)

http://vmedia.rivals.com/IMAGES/PROS...S_CHRIS200.JPG

D-Wash, Carney, and our very own Fab Five (four of whom have already spent a year together as teammates on the supremely stacked Laurinburg Prep team, which went 40-0 and won the prep "national championship;" the other, Chris Douglas-Roberts, was a huge recruit from Detroit and has reportedly been even more impressive than the Laurinburg 4 in workouts at the Finch) are going to do some very, very exciting things in 05-06.

Quote:

Q: Why did you choose Memphis?
Antonio Anderson: Because I thought that Coach Calipari and his staff had the most to offer me, not just basketball-wise but academically. That's where I felt comfortable.

Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
A: My strengths are that no matter who is guarding me, I can score. I can penetrate and get to the hole and I like to pass a lot. My weakness is that I need to work more on my outside shot. I need to get more consistent.

Q: What do you think you guys from Laurinburg can accomplish at Memphis?
A: If all of us stay together, we can win a national championship. Especially with Chris Douglas-Roberts coming with us.

Q: Is there an NBA player that people say you resemble?
A: Everyone says that I play similar to Dwyane Wade.

Q: How has Laurinburg helped you develop?
A: They have us working hard every day. As of right now, we were lifting when Coach Chaney gave me the phone. We lift every day, play every day. Practicing against all Division 1 players gets you better.
There's also Andre Allen, a guy whose only real question mark is his size. He was a three-star on Rivals and had several scholarship offers from solid D1 schools, but decided to walk on at the school he's always wanted to play for. He didn't have the grades last year, but he's eligible this year and should provide some really solid depth (though PG's already quite solid with D-Wash, CDR, and Antonio Anderson all capable of playing the point well).
