British Open Thread...

..Thought I'd start this early, since the 1st round starts Thursday.

My favorite PGA Irishman - Padraig Harrington - withdrew today due to the passing of his father.

May the road rise to meet him...

EDIT* Here's the Official Open Website in case youse guys were interested.

Lots of sentiment across the pond this week as Jack makes official his last British Open appearance.

Here's an interesting piece from the Golf Channel.

Yeah, I had to withdraw too. I have to stay here to see what Flo does next.

WilliamTheIrish 07-12-2005 10:47 AM

Here's the page for the groups on day 1.

Would be nice to follow group #8.

Watson, Jack and Luke Donald.

From what I've read recently, you've been quite the man with menses.

Not me. I just sit quietly and mind my own business.

Woudn't it be nice for a little Watson magic again....... to win on the PGA at his age would be something short of a miracle.

bump from page four :p I would love to see big John win it again.

I'd like to see Retief recover from his final round collapse at the US Open, but I'm not sure how he does on the links courses.

If I were a betting man this is where my $ would go.

Round one is nearly in the books. Jack had a pretty nice round.

Lots of fellas at 68, two shots behind Woods. I slrpt a little late but the commentators mentioned that the early players didn't contend with the weather that the later groups had.

WilliamTheIrish 07-14-2005 11:29 AM

Check out that shot on the 14th by Sergio Garcia.

Garcia has a chance to catch Woods.

So does Singh.

WilliamTheIrish 07-14-2005 12:14 PM

Mark Hensby moves to -5 on the 15th hole.
