Raiders Offense

Sans the very first drive the Raiders offense looked average. All they did the rest of the game was chuck the ball downfield 40 yards. They picked up a few plays but, overall, their offense didn't look that great.

They completely abandoned the run and it looked like a video game with Collins just hurling the ball to Moss into triple coverage.

Maybe a little premature to pass too much judgement on their O just yet, however, they looked predictable. And if you're not going to run the ball, play action isn't really that effective.

Nope not premature-I think you pretty much covered it. They sucked. But their Defense looked pathetic as well. 4-12 will be their record.

First drive impressed me. Really all downhill for them after that. Run D played better than most expected I guess, but Brady had his way with their secondary. I don't see them being on par with us or Indy in terms of offense and their defense still has a ways to go.

Collins can't take the heat and as the game tonight progressed he looked worse and worse. If we get the win against then Jets I'll feel good going into Oakland. We gotta get that win though......we gotta get that win!

Regardless of the outcome against the Jets, I think we win the Oakland game.

The PATS shut down the run and the Raiders don't run a sophisticated passing offense.

Dayze 09-08-2005 11:31 PM

I noticed Moss dropped a few when players were near him (less the big TD catch).....as always. Just proves the guy is a deep threat and that's it. If the ball is in the air, and defenders are closing it's as good as incomplete as he'll either A. quit on the play, or B. just flat out drop it.

We can only hope our d can get to Collins early enough to disrupt the deep ball.

Otherwise, we're toast.

Harrison hit him early, let him know he was there. If you get Moss hearing footsteps thinking he's about to get drilled he will drop balls as he did tonight.

I'll never take a division foe for granted cause those games are always tough. If we can't win at home I'll be hard pressed to feel sure about beating a division foe no matter how bad I think they are. If we lose this week then next week is a 50-50 proposition at best.

This is the last post I make about the Raiders until we are done with the Jets. This week it's the Jets and that's the biggest game of the season.

I agree with all of your observations but I think its still way too early to tell about their offense. Especially considering they were playing the patriots.

elvomito 09-08-2005 11:39 PM

the raiders will definately break down film and try to fix their mistakes.
they looked average against the pats, and the pats looked average against them

Agreed! :D

Collins acted like Moss is the only target he has. He was pathedic.

Amnorix 09-09-2005 06:28 AM

The Faiders need to learn that it takes all 11 guys to win on offense. They were overly in love with their new weapon, Moss. They need to do a better job of using him as a decoy and having a more balanced attack overall.

Raiders = Same old Raiders !!!!

Penalties, A little offense, and fat slow pieces of human flesh along the defensive line...... yeah they did ok stopping the run last night, but Dillon was the one with the final knockout blows in the end of the game anyway! Sapp and Washington are just useless when the plays are not right at them. Sapp looks like he is trying his best to be bigger and slower than Washington..... he's freakin round! No shock though, they looked like the same old Faiders and their swiss cheese defense. Let's just hope our boys don't look similar on Sunday!!!! GO CHIEFS!!!!
