A very dramtic scenario for the end of the season...

Say SD wins all their remaining games except at KC and

KC wins their next three.

Entering the final game against CIN the standings would be:

Denver 12-4
KC 11-4
SD 11-5

If KC wins, and the fifth tie breaker (strength of victory) falls their way, they could win the division and own the tie breaker over CIN earning them the #2 seed and a first round bye.

IF they lose the CIN game, they would finished tied with SD at 11-5 and lose the tie breaker (winning percentage vs. common opponents) and be out of the playoffs altogether!!

Granted a lot would have to happen to force this scenario, but having that final game determine a first round bye or not even getting into the playoffs would make for a vERY dramatic football game, especially since CIN would have to win it to get the #2 seed as well. Yikes.

I've said all along that the Chiefs vs Bengals game could be for a first round bye.

This means nothing if we dont take care of Dallas this weekend... I can see chiefsplanet implode 10x worse than the Bills game (after a great win over oakland).

So, let me get this straight, if Both KC and Denver finsih at 12-4, KC wins the division?

Also, who is in, who is out, if both the Donkeys and Chargers finish at 11-5?

Here's an even bigger kicker....

Should the week leading up to week 17 unfold like that AND Denver beats SD, Denver clinches the division and the #2 seed AND...

Cincy is stuck in the #3 seed and KC clinches the #6 before they even play the game.

So which would be better? Go into the CIN with a one shot chance to get the #2 seed with a chance also to not even qualify, or go into the game knowing that they are in the playoffs albeit at #6?

Depends on the stregth of victory tie breaker which wil take all the way up to the final weekend to determine. KC COULD win the division.

As for Denver and SD at 11-5, it depends on who Denver SD lose to.

Go for it all. If that actually happens we can beat Cincy. Especially if KC knows what a victory could do for them.

carlos3652 12-07-2005 10:41 AM

umm I would take the 6th seed, play super vanilla vs Cincy, and beat them in Cincy in the playoffs. I think this could be done...

I think I would like this scenario if any of our OL, WR, DB are hurt during the 3 game strech...

I'd love to get one game at Arrowhead, even if it's just one. I'd go for the #2 seed...

It is our destiny to upset the Colts in Indy.
