Thought this would make an interesting topic and hopefully allow eveeryone to burn off a little steam as well.

This is me during a Chiefs game:

I use to spit, curse, throw things, kick things, yell, etc. BUT I no longer do any of those things anymore. My 6 year old son watches the games with me now and I figure I'm not setting a real good example for him if I do those things over something as trivial as a football game. It doesn't send a very good message.

NOW, don't misunderstand me. I'm as much a DIE-HARD as anyone. The 'trivial' comment only looks at the logical standpoint of things. Logic tends to go out the door, climb up the ladder and jump off the roof when the game is on. I have managed to control myself on the outside, but inside of me Armegeddon itself is taking place.

I may not DO anything, but inside my gut is wrenching, my stomach is twisting, my heart is pumping fiercely, my blood-pressure is rising, and my veins begin to make a surface appearance at different points and times.

I may not SAY anything, but inside a constant merry-go-round is rotating in my head with EVERY curse word spoken in the history of mankind coming to my attention. I've even had some bad words in diff. languages come into my head before.

But, nevertheless, I just sit there: in my recliner, motionless, staring at the TV with a scowl that would make Jon Gruden piss his pants! For some reason, my wife never approaches me during those times. Wonder what her problem is?

Go figure.<P>

I threatend the refs with bodily injury on numerous accounts.

Obviously, it depends on the game and its outcome. First and foremost, I am a GREAT winner. When the Chiefs win I'm happy for a week.

When KC is playing poorly, is at the end of a bad call, throws an interception, or allows a touchdown the furious 5yr old AZChief emerges.

I jump up, I jump down, I scream, I swear, I spray, I spill, I soil, I rant, I cry, I vent, I hit, I pull, I squeeze, I break, I demolish, I destroy, I embarrass, I,I....am a Chiefs fan.

It depends on where I am. If I'm home I act like a slavoring Neanderthal. I cuss, scream and throw things. If I'm at a bar (as I was today), I still cuss and scream, but not as bad, and I don't throw anything. I actually shook the hand of a Raiders fan after the game today, which was a VERRRYYYY difficult thing to do. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif

The worst thing is if I'm watching the game somewhere that I really have to control myself, like the future inlaws' house. Can't smoke there, either, which makes it really bad. I don't (and won't) do that too often.

Today, Bob Dole sounded like Carl Peterson chatting with Ethan Locke.

I really need to get one of those foam bricks to chuck at the TV! Pillows are too dangerous - and I'm sick of buying new remote-controls every-other week! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Morph: I've quietly done that myself(under my breath).

AZ: LOL. I loved reading yours!

frazod: Yuck!!!! Patooey!!! Make sure you wash those hands EXTRA good when you get home!

Frazod 10-15-2000 04:12 PM

Don't worry, Tom. I had a booger on my finger at the time....
