AFC Championship better than Superbowl

I know the thought of Denver being in the AFC Championship game makes some of you so sick as to render the game unwatchable. I urge you to reconsider.

If you can put aside the logo on the home team's helmet I think you will see an outstanding football game. I did it when KC played over the last couple of years because I loved to see Priest run. Denver vs. Pittsburgh, IMHO, will be a better game than the Superbowl aka "NFC massacre".

Bettis' last game, Big Ben back in the championship, the stud Pittsburgh D are going to be fun to watch as they fight for the win against, well, you know who.

Watch the best game of the season. You can shower afterwards.

I do think it'll be a good game.

I also think the NFC team is going to put up a better fight than most people expect.

I think the AFC Championship game was going to be veiwed as a better match up of teams than the SB, regardless of who made it that far.

The NFC is perceived by most as an inferior conference.

Hopefully so. Still, whatever the match-up is for the SB I do't think it can equal the excitement of the AFC Championship game.

Up and down the line Pitt/Denver are evenly matched, right down to the coaches.

I'm looking forward to watching both games this weekend. But then, I always enjoy watching these games. Friends, booze, food, booze, 60 inches of viewing pleasure....what's not to like?
Sure it would be great if my beloved Chiefs were playing, but I think having Sunday Ticket and playing fantasy football over the years, has made me a fan of the NFL as well.

That said, I hope the Donks get f'n crushed Sunday.

I couldn't agree more, fantasy football for the last 10+ years has made me a fan of the game as a whole.

That said I also agree with your take on the Donks and am hoping the Panthers can win it all.

I notice there was only one ingredient mentioned twice.
I like your style.

As to the game: I freely acknowledge that the Steelers could leave Mile High with a win.

The Pitt running game is a lethal combo of thunder and lightning; Ben can throw, Ward and Randle el are frigging dangerous, and their rookie TE is another in a long string of solid Pitt draft choices.

On defense the Pitt front seven is bad mamba jamba; Polyamula (sp?) plays run contain as well as any Safety and he can pass cover like a mofo.

lately the over the past 10 years or so, the Super Bowls have actually been pretty good. Much better than the 1980's and early 1990's when the NFC ruled.

I love fantasy football, or I did until this year. Drafting Priest Holmes, Terrel Owens, and Darrel Jackson will do that for you. I was leading the league until those guys went down/out.

Damn it, Go Steelers .

kcxiv 01-18-2006 05:50 PM

I could care who wins the game. I just think Denver will win. I actually kind of want them to win. Show the Chiefs organization how to run a freaking franchise.

Also, **** Fantasy football. I treid to play it 2 years in a row, n stopped giving a crap about it before the season even started both years. I just dont see the fun in it. Just my opinion though.

Were you in a fantasy league with your buddies or just some online league with people you don't know?

IMHO 9/10 of the fun of FF is playing against your buddies, from the season-opening draft day party to the season closing party at the bar where all accululated tranaction fees and dues are spent on food and booze.

I've become such a FF addict I'm in 6 postseason internet cash leagues and our local league reconfigured our rules so that the top 6 teams play thru the Superbowl.

Hammock Parties 01-18-2006 05:59 PM

I don't think so.

I believe the NFC teams are superior to both AFC teams this time around.
