NBA Dunk Contest...

Best dunk contest I've seen in a decade....

Bowser 02-18-2006 09:44 PM

Is Spud Webb playing?

jAZ 02-18-2006 09:49 PM

Strangely, yes...

Nate Robinson (5'9") just won by dunking by jumping over Spud Webb.

It was the most creative dunk contest I've ever seen.

yeah, that and the dunk where A.I. tossed it to A.I. off the backside of the backboard..that shit was awesome. There should have been a second dunk off but one of the judges changed his score.

ChiefsfaninPA 02-18-2006 10:27 PM

The dunks were actually creative this year. Last year wasn't too bad either. That small dude that played for the Knicks is amazing. I am 6 foot even and could barely stuff it in my younger athletic days.

JBucc 02-18-2006 10:29 PM

All the dunks were creative and very good, but for some reason I didn't find myself very excited at all despite Magic's constant "the dunk contest is back! the dunk contest is back!"

I'd be more impressed with a free throw shooting contest. Now that would exhibit some real skill. Something BB players don't possess the ability to do anymore these days. :shake:

Nothing A.I. could have done would or did was as impressive as the Spud Webb bounce tomahawk dunk by Robinson.

When you are 6'5", you really have to do something that has never been done before to impress me.

But I am also short.

Yeah I agree..and A.I. telling Nate that he got screwed made me laugh. After all, A.I. did screw Ben Gordon out of the MVP last night when he decided to turn into a ball hog. Man that pissed me off. Still, that behind the backboard bounce off the glass into a dunk..impressive shit. I'd still give it to Nate tho

did any dunks beat stoudemires dunks assisted by nash from last year?

KevB 02-19-2006 12:07 AM

Nobody should win the dunk contest when it takes them 10-15 times to land 2 of their last 3 dunks.

That was a little excessive, but he's a little guy with heart. You know, the little engine that could.

There will never be a better dunk than Jason Richardson's in 2004, where he went off glass, through the legs, and slammed it home with one hand. There aren't 5 people on this planet who could've done that.

Rich Scanlon could've done that while eating a sandwich and changing a diaper.

Most of them. That dunk is horribly overrated and i'm a Suns fan.
