Can't amend tickets anymore in KC?
 

Try to make this short.. I got a illegal turn in a left lane ticket, when i left, he pulled me over claiming i sped out and spun my tires.. (Its a Kia 4 cyclinder SUV, i was pulled over in gravel).. There is no way i can spin my tires on normal roads.. Anyway, i am looking at 2 tickets...

I went to my local lawyer (i have had NO tickets in over 5 years), and now thanks to a KC Star article on the front page in Jan 29th, tickets cannot be amended after FEB 17th..

Is this fair??.. I can understand the person who has had 5 speeding tickets in one year, make it 1-2 tickets can be amended in a year, etc..

Its all about money isnt it?.. To pay the court costs etc... Yes, i did the illegal turn (a turn that was legal until a shopping complex was built, it has 2 lanes to turn left, but they made the right lane straight or right only, you can turn left, but there is a sign now)...

If anything, i will either fight the rotation of tires with pics of the side of the road i was pulled over and the gravel that is on the road.. When the officer pulled me over, we were blocking one lane of traffic ...

Whats amazing is everything i go home, people still use the right lane to turn left, school buses (even other cops), i need to bring my digital camera and take pictures daily of people uses that lane.. I dont think it that clear..

No they will not make an exception to the law for you and a Kia.

No other people breaking the law does not make you doing it legal.

Tire rotation? My tires rotate every time I drive. What's next? No walking on the floor?

Just admit you were pissed off and spun your tires trying to throw gravel all over his car. :)

What you should've done is let him get up on you with his lights on while you're still driving. Act like you don't see him and speed up slightly...he'll speed up too and eventually will get right on your ass and if you still don't see him he'll briefly turn his siren on. When he does this you SLAM on your brakes stop on a dime and hope that his car hits yours. Hey, you stopped right?

Then he will be bitc$ing that he can't amend three tickets.

If there's one thing KC cops know about it's writing traffic tickets...screw all that theft, murder and rape crap, that doesnt pay the bills like a 38 in a 30 speeder.

I rarely see kcpd clocking or writing tickets. I saw them once on broadway and once on wornall.

Plead not guilty and ask for a trial. Then video tape the place where these left turns take place. Also, get a local race driver to drive your car, try to get him to spin the wheels, and then call him as an expert witness so he can testify that your Kia sucks.
