More bad news for Iowa State....Wayne Morgan has been CANNED!
Just saw it on ESPN. Here's the story.
Without warning, Iowa State fires MorganBy Andy Katz

Iowa State abruptly fired Wayne Morgan Thursday night, Morgan told ESPN.com.
Morgan was summoned to a meeting with athletic director Jamie Pollard and president Gregory Geoffroy at 10 p.m. Thursday night. Morgan said he was told at the meeting that he was fired, as was his staff.
Morgan, 55, had been the coach for three years after replacing Larry Eustachy on May 14, 2003.
Iowa State was 16-14 this season, including a 6-10 mark in the Big 12. The Cyclones were 19-12 (9-7 in the Big 12) a year ago, beating Minnesota in the first round and losing to North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In Morgan's first season, the Cyclones went to the NIT postseason final four, going 20-13 (7-9 in the Big 12) after losing to Rutgers in the NIT semifinals.
Morgan said his firing this week had nothing to do with a CBS Sportsline report on the Cyclones using a company called D1 scheduling for non-conference games in exchange for recruiting. Earlier this week, Iowa State's backcourt of Curtis Stinson and Will Blalock announced they would both declare for the NBA draft.
Morgan said he was told the basketball program should be the marquee of the athletic department but "we don't think you can do that."
Morgan said, "The only person who had a better first three years here was Tim Floyd."
Morgan was stunned with the news. So, too, was his staff.
