fuck those spike strips....

I don't know what to think about this..... Looks interesting though...

New Michelin Tires

"No air! And much less petroleum in their manufacture. Check these out...

Thought you might like to see the next generation of tires. They had a pair at the Philadelphia Car show. Attached are pictures of the new Michelin tires. These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires. Just think of the impact on existing technology... no more air valves.......no more air compressors at gas stations($.50 for just enough air to air up one tire... bastards!).....no more repair kits. "

Hate to have someone jam rebar in my spokes.

Wow. Cool.

You can also put a William Bartee football card in there to make your car sound like a motorcycle.

Actually I heard that they are significantly louder than normal tires... which is the only real drawback....

And why ohh why would you want to waste a Bartee card?? That's gonna be worth tens of cents someday....

Eleazar 03-28-2006 03:29 PM

I wonder how long they last compared to regular tires. That's the million dollar question.

Dartgod 03-28-2006 03:34 PM

What happens when mud (or any other foreign matter like ice or snow) becomes caked on one side of the tire. I would think there might be a serious out of balance siotuation. I'm sure they've already considered that, though.

Valiant 03-28-2006 03:44 PM

Balancing period would be my main concearn that and the price of them... How many miles you can get out of them.. Can you peel out if they are on a sports car??? What about off-road packages???

Wait, I wonder if that pic is just to show how they work. Perhaps getting debris won't be a problem after all. Perhaps they will come with side walls.

ROYC75 03-28-2006 04:36 PM

I wonder how it mounts to the wheel. It looks as thou it glued on, there is no rib on the wheel .

HemiEd 03-28-2006 04:41 PM

I bet they whistle and would double as a deer warning.

seclark 03-28-2006 04:42 PM

old jake at the tire repair shop says it's the worst invenshun since fix-a-flat.

ROYC75 03-28-2006 05:03 PM

JBucc 03-28-2006 05:07 PM

I'd imagine a few hoodlums with a pair of scissors could run through a parking lot and do thousands in damage to those things
