Another exciting "rate my fantasy draft" thread . . .

This was my fantasy league draft: (I drafted in the 3rd position)

1. (3) L. Johnson RB
2. (18) W. Parker RB
3. (23) R. Wayne WR
4. (38) A. Johnson WR
5. (43) M. Hasselbeck QB
6. (58) J. Lewis RB
7. (63) J. Horn WR
8. (78) H. Miller TE
9. (83) B. Leftwich QB
10. (98) Tampa Bay DEF
11. (103) D. Bennett WR
12. (118) J. Brown K
13. (123) Jacksonville DEF
14. (138) J. Kasay K
15. (143) M. Leinart QB

About half the drafters were there (5 of 10) in a Yahoo public league. If nothing else, had a great time visiting with (and razzing) the Seahawk and Denver fans. (The Seahawk guy is annoyed that I took Hasselbeck before he could.)

I figured Leinart was worth a 15th round pick. If he sucks or never plays, I'm sure there's some sleepers out there I can always dump him for. If Warner goes down or gets benched, then I'm in good shape. (Sorta like taking LJ two years ago when Priest got hurt.)

That's quite good. But I bet you already knew that.

When you said it was an exciting thread, I just had to get in on it.

Beyond that, I have nothing to add, except to echo Brock.

Damn, I we really need one of those Sarcasm smileys you can add to a topic header.

milkman 08-26-2006 12:20 PM

I knew you were being sarcastic.

So was I.
Just having a little fun with it.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 08-26-2006 12:23 PM

I knew you knew I knew you knew I was being sarcastic.

(pauses)

Hmm, let me get back to you on that. I think I got lost up there.

Agreed.

MCF, either you are in a small league (less than 12 teams) or your opponents are all homers/or not NFL savvy. That's a very good draft--top to bottom. You should have a good shot, barring injuries....

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 08-26-2006 12:43 PM

It's a 10 team Yahoo public league. I think half the team owners showed up based on the conversations going on in chat.

Mr. Laz 08-26-2006 12:55 PM

reggie wayne in the 3rd is a steal

hassleback in the 5th is completely, utterly nutso

heath miller in the 8th is laughable

tampa bay in the 10th is outstanding

looks like you really bent them over

I like the team. You will do well. Just curious why you picked two kickers. I tend to just grab sleepers or depth and pick a kicker in the last round. I've always noticed that kickers tend to change year to year on who's going to score. Other than that I would say that you got an excellent chance to take the league.

I'm just about to complete a 10-man draft. Since we are all friends all over the country, we pick via email so as to not worry about finding one time to draft.

I had the 7th pick in the draft and so far with 3 rounds remaining:

Round taken in ().
QB:
Donovan McNabb (5)
Phillip Rivers (12)

RB:
Tiki Barber (1)
Willie Parker(3)
Dominc Rhodes (7)
Laurence Moroney (8)
Wali Lundy(9)

WR:
Larry Fitzgerald (2)
Roy Williams (6)
Bobby Engram (10)
Antonio Bryant (11)

TE:
Antonio Gates (4)

I still need an kicker and a defense and just about any other player I wish. Any feelings on a deep sleeper?

i agree

i usually only pick 1 QB,1 Kicker,1 TE and 1 defense at the beginning unless the one i picked sucks and i know i've got a problem early on.

gotta stock up on RB's and WR's :thumb:
