Okay, it's safe to say that Denver will fire Robinson. Good luck to him in his future endeavors.

Word on the street is that Shanahan is looking at Ray Rhodes. I think that would be incredibly cool! Although, I'm still hoping that KC fires Gunther... I'd like for them to look at a few proven candidates.

I'd be really happy if they hired Dave Adolph or better yet, Kurt Schottenheimer. ;)

It looks I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I was hoping that we might see Rhoades in KC to replace Kurt as DC. C’mon Carl, get your *** in gear and lets make some coaching changes before all the good candidates are snatched up by other teams!

Thay's pretty lame IMHO. Robinson was "good enough" to contribute to winning 2 Super Bowls. Denver's "D" was pretty good during that span. Now, some players are gone and injured and the fingers are pointing. I guess SCAPEGOAT is the term I'm looking for.

Anyway Brad, glad you're back, and will be around for the off season after what had to be a bitter loss to Sharpe and the Ravens.

The 'scapegoat' thing happens every day in the NFL and life in general. I'm in sales and I was good enough to be at 150% of my quota in 2000, but if I hit 70% in 2001 they'll show my *** the door.

Anywho, the loss was tough, but it wasn't as unexpected with Gus at the helm. NO, I'm not using excuses, but it would have been a tougher loss for me to swallow had Griese been on the field and performed that badly.

Gus hit more WRs in the arse on Sunday than any QB had in recent memory. Gus was serviceable in relief of Griese, but more often than not it was because of Anderson.

As for Sharpe, I still like the guy. I'm happy for him and he didn't throw too many rocks before the game, which baffled me.

Anywho, if the Ravens had a QB not named Dilfer, I could probably cheer for them. But, he's one of those sorry a$$ QBs that I can never really like. He's incredibly weak. They have a helluva defense, nice WRs, strong RB and Sharpe. So, I don't have a problem with them winning.

You know - I saw this one coming from a mile away. I have a good friend who is a Donx fan. We get together every week at his house to watch the Chiefs and Donx on Direct Ticket. I told him right after the Chiefs beat Denver that B-More wins in a route. I wasn't rubbibg anything in. My reason was that Sharpe knows the Denver offense and Billick is just as keen as Shanny. Don't discount this as a legit reason. It did come into play.

You're right about the "sales" analogy - you're only as good as your "last year" and sometomes one can become a "victom of one's own success."

Mile High Mania 01-02-2001 10:09 AM

I think it had *something* to do with it, but I think it more or less happened because Gus really sucks. ;-)

Seriously, I think the guy has talent, but there is a reason that he is not a starter in the NFL.

Anywho, it should be an interesting offseason for both teams.

Ta dah....

It's official. Denver is now looking for a new DC according to CNNSI. Hmmmm, maybe they'll be looking in DC for their new DC. :D

This will be an interesting offseason, many veteran players may not make it back, but I don't think that is a bad thing.

I think they should sign Griese, Dan Neil and Griffith to long term deals. They will have 2 big spots to fill on the OL and they will need to revamp the secondary.

Should be fun.

MHM - Lucky bastage, now if we knew what was going on with the Chiefs, but all their coaches have this week off, so we have to wait at least one more week.
