Trent to Retire! MAYBE?

I know the reports say that he is only out two games, but it looks like he will pull a PH and be out all year then retire. It is going to be hard to find a doctor to release him after the severe head trauma.

This is all MAJOR speculation-but I thought you guys should know how serious the guy is hurt. A good friend at work is going through some medical problems and has the same set of doctors as Trent-apparently his Mom is a nurse in the office.

Trent has had bleeding and swelling of the brain and loss of feeling in his limbs. Not to mention the headaches. His family wants him to retire, but you know how TG is. This was one of the worst hits I have seen, and when it happened I thought he was done for good-well it looks like he might be.

Yes this is another-my friends moms boss thing-so I am praying it is bad info. So don't jump my butt for posting this-the point is-everyone in Trents camp but him-think he is done.

Another option is the PUP list the rest of the year and try to make a comeback next year. But like I said I hope this is bad info-but this guy is a HUGE Chiefs fan and he would not talk a bunch of shit-he was pretty bummed about the news. So believe what you want?

No offense, but this is idiotic. This information is so bad, I don't even know where to start. Bitchslap whoever gave it to you, because they're going to turn you into the next dr00d.

As I've said before, I hope he does retire. This piece of shit O-line cannot protect him, we aren't winning jack shit this year, and the next savage hit he takes might leave him a drooling vegetable. The guy has a bright future as an analyst - perhaps some day he could replace some fuqtard like Irwin, Theisman or [insert either name] Sharpe, and actually give us a little love from the national stage.

He has nothing left to prove, and won't last until we're competitive again. I say throw Huard to the wolves, save Croyle for the future, and thanks Trent for the memories.

Well I don't think so-my friend is a season ticket holder and a big fan. His mom told him what the doctors have been talking about. Trent was hurt a lot worse than what Carl and everyone at the Chiefs have let on. The swelling of the Brain stem is some serious shit-IF it is true.

Believe what you want. I'm washing my hands of the chicken littles on this board and going back to watching them in amused silence.

Anyone heard of the new Hippa laws?

Miles 09-29-2006 10:03 PM

Maybe no.

It wouldn't surprise me a all if he is done for good. Someone cite me a case of a player that couldn't drive himself around for 3 weeks after a concussion and came back shortly thereafter. This is serious shit folks. Trent didn't just get dizzied - he got his brains scrambled, and for those thinking he will be back soon, you are probably going to be disappointed.

I'm a season ticket holder and haven't been made privy to any of this information. Furthermore, there are thousands, thousands of doctors that would clear him if he wanted to be cleared, the same with Priest. I'm not saying it's the medically right or ethical thing to do, but it will most definitely happen. One only has to look at all the fuckups caused by team doctors that could be considered blatant malpractice in the past as proof of that.

You are exactly right-maybe in a few weeks the headaches go away and the swelling goes down without operating-but WHY risk getting hit helmet to helmet again. When you watch the back of his head smash against the turf-it makes the brain stem swelling seem pretty believable. My friend would not talk a bunch of shit-he is a big TG fan.

I tend to be more aligned with NewChief on this one too. Trent sounds anxious to get back in - if not, why would he be telling Herm ideas he has for plays? If Trent were going to quit, he would have never made it past the rehab from Harrison's hit. Trent still wants to play. He'll be back.

Also, if your friend's mother is a nurse, she is putting her job and license in jeapordy by sharing medical info she learned about a patient.

Well, shit. I feel badly for the guy. If it's really this serious then he does need to hang it up. I hope he has success after football. He's always been a classy guy from what I remember.

I don't want to believe it-I hope he is back in three weeks-but he is just now getting out of the house and getting around. TG is an Iron man so he might beat the odds. Most players would be done after that illegal cheap shot.

There is no swelling. Your friend is feeding you a load of hearsay and BS. His last MRI came back fine. There are no longer headaches or dizziness either. Like I said, believe what you want, but I do know what I'm talking about.

But is it worth taking another hit-so far his doctors and family are telling him NO!
