Can anyone tell me about the "red-shirt" drafts of the old AFL?
In 1965 and 1966, it appears the old AFL instituted a "red shirt" draft.
They drafted 19 regular rounds, followed by something like 12 "red shirt" rounds. Any information on this would be appreciated. Jan Stenerud was a 3rd round "red shirt" draft pick for the Chiefs in 1966. Trivia question: who was the other place kicker the Chiefs drafted that year (in the 7th round of the regular draft)? |
Morten Andersen.

I'd like to help you out here Seedy but I smoked a bunch of dope and it made me forget everything that happened over the past 40 years.

I wasn't really aware of the draft and it's significance in the 60s, so I can't help you either.
