Vick to the Raiders?

One newpaper columnists opinion:

OAKLAND WOULD BE GOOD PLACE FOR VICK TO START FRESH

Here's something to picture as you look ahead to the offseason: Michael Vick in a Raiders jersey.A lot, namely a trade and a lot of salary cap details, will have to happen in the meantime. But this one makes perfect sense, and it may be just what the Raiders need to revive a franchise that's faltering.

The Falcons, who have given Vick every possible chance, will be willing to part with their quarterback. Despite his outrageous talent, he hasn't produced on any sort of consistent level and tensions are at an all-time high in the Falcons organization.

The crescendo may have come Sunday when Vick made an obscene gesture at Atlanta fans who ridiculed him as he walked off the field. The Falcons gladly would take draft picks for Vick, who clearly needs a fresh start.

And what better place for Vick than Oakland, where many a renegade has prospered?

Picture Vick throwing to Randy Moss. Picture Al Davis smiling again.

Even on his bad days, Vick would fit in Oakland. He could wave to fans who speak the same language.

Even if the Raiders got Vick, Moss is gone after this season.

Wonder what would happen to the Falcons if they turned the reins over to Shaubb and got a player-player trade: Vick for Moss.

That would be great news for KC.

I disagree... the last thing we need with the Riaders is a QB with talent. Sure, he's inconsistent, but he's very talented. Not like Walters and Brooks.

Vick's contract was insane the last time I checked. Trading him would cripple Atlanta's cap.

Jake to Faiders sounds so much better.

CoMoChief 11-29-2006 02:08 PM

He wont leave Hotlanta. Get my drift?

kcxiv 11-29-2006 02:08 PM

yeah, no Vick in the AFC west.

Sure, he's got a lot of talent, if he played running back.

I'd think the Raiders would be better served by looking for a more dependable, consistant (if unexciting) game-manager type QB.

They always seem to swing for a homerun in FA, only to stike out repeatedly.

Vick can flip to his hearts content at the black hole.

I'd rather see him stay in Atlanta, though. As, Mr. StcChief said, Plummer would be a better fit for the Raiders. He's not afraid to go deep.

This is pretty much word-for-word what I was going to say.

Remember our shit defense shutting this clown down to the tune of 56-10? If he wants to go ruin any semblance of a passing game Oakland might muster in the future, I'm all for it.

Vick is the biggest QB mistake since Ryan Leaf.

it would be a blessing to have them both fall on their faces in the AFC west

JBucc 11-29-2006 03:21 PM

That would be great. He sucks against us, and the one time he played against the Donkeys he had 250 yards passing and 115 or so yards rushing and 3 total TD's. Get it done Carl!
