Do you need anything other than a regular DVD player to play it?

I would assume that an HD-DVD would only play on an HD-DVD player.

well since i got the 360 i can buy me a HD-DVD for 200 bucks now. I may check into that very soon.

You can only play an HD DVD on an HD DVD player, although the Superman Returns DVD that I bought is both an HD (side A) and regular (side B) DVD. I can take it to a friends house that doesn't have an HD DVD or HDTV set, or if I feel generous I can let them borrow it...

The TV I got is the new 1080p LCD-HD, and I also got a brand new HD DVD player with it, that originally costs $800, but they threw that in there to. I Carl Peterson'd them.

I picked that up a couple of days ago (they're flying off the shelves, too - I had to go to two different stores, and bought the last one the second store had). The restored Brando footage is awesome - it really adds to the story, especially in the scene where Superman goes back to the Fortress of Solitude to get his powers back.

Certainly the visuals are shitty by today's standards, but it's still a much better movie than the new one, which I DIDN'T buy.
