Glavine signs 1 year, 10.5 Million dollar contract
 

Good lord doesnt this seem rediculously high for someone that will play for only 1 more season? At the most 2 but the guy is very old and throws around 80mph. I dont care if he's a lefty this is just a bad investment IMO. But I guess they have the $$$ to blow so whatever.

Guys with loseing records and ERA's over 5.9 are getting paid huge amounts of money.

I don't follow baseball that closely, but it seems to me that Glavine had a good season, winning with guile and smarts.

His skills aren't likely to decline anymore than they have already in the next couple of years.

Glavine is still solid can still win 15plus games and have a ERA under 4.

The way their salaries are, hell yea, its insane. For the player he's they are loving it.

Hes still better than anything the Royals have...

Hell thats not saying much. Half of the pitchers in this league are better than anything KC has.

I think I saw a stat where the Mets won 24 of the 32 games he started, so that seems like a pretty good signing for them.

Glavine was pretty solid last year. NYM are going for a WS"s they can def. make it again next year and will need pitching. Makes me wonder what would've happend if Pedro didnt get hurt.

Oh Well....

Cards lost some key players at the wrong time in the past. Depth is key.

That's not a bad contract at all. Especially since it's only one year.

That's not a bad investment. Bad investments are when you sign 32-year-old players to 4- and 5-year guaranteed contracts.
