I need hope
I need some level of hope today for the organization that I follow.
I seem to have wandered off the path of Chiefs fandom and have wound up at the corner of Hatred and Contempt. Hell, before that, I was driving down Ambivalence Street - where there was still some level of hope. Well, I'm going to sit on this corner for a while before I head down any path. I'm searching for hope, and a bit of logic and reason. If you see any, please let me know. My current map is leading me off the path of being a "true fan" and pushing me down the road of a casual bandwaggoner. Your help is greatly appreciated...... :deevee: |
We lost our starting QB in the first game of the season to a severe injury and were still in the playoff hunt. We've had offensive line trouble all season. We've had some tough breaks this season and we shot ourselves in the foot in Miami, Cleveland, and against Baltimore. We've been drafting well lately, so if we keep that up and can get some consistency on the offensive line next year, we should be a competitive team.

It is easy to run down the path of hatred, young patawan...
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” |
Go watch some porno. It'll make everything else seem trivial.

The Bright Side:
After Trent went down it looked like the season was over. With some good play from Huard, coaching that held the team together, and some production from younger guys we stayed in the mix. Hopefully with a season that doesn't start with the team leader in the hospital and maybe some more decent drafting the Chiefs will be contenders for something next year. We might be able to find some Dline and/or secondary players that upgrade what we have. Herm's personnel pickups seem to be helping, at least so far. At the very least the team is different, no more score fast and constantly to hide our defensive problems. Maybe this path will be more fruitful. |
The bitter cold of winter and the food shortages will cull the weak and sick.
With the spring rains and warming sun of April, will come sprouts of newly drafted flowers and FA hope0eraniums. I just took a left on Ambivelence boulevard last sunday. Its probably the fault of a GPS manufacturer. My hope will feel better when my lawsuit with them bears fruit. Walk away.....don't worry, our Bad Girlfriend will get her hooks back into our souls in the spring. |

This was the first year since about 1998 that neither Hicks nor Bartee started a game.
