DTV sucks and my HD-DVR/receiver...
About 2-3 weeks ago we called and ordered an HD-DVR/receiver. They sent us the wrong one; they sent us the regular DVR. We sent it back, called and got put on a list to get the HD one...
We called them tonight after a week later. We found out we were NOT put on the list. So we have to wait another ****ing 2-3 weeks for the damn thing. We're thinking about cancelling. We said send us one now, we already waited 3 weeks for one. They said they would be bumping someone down the list. WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN BUMPED DOWN THE LIST, NOW THIS IS BUMP #2!!! Is there a way we can get one sent out right away? We've already served our time, this is not right. It's not good customer service. Is there anyone above the supervisor you can talk to? It's a bunch of shit, we are seriously thinking about cancelling. Is Dish Network better? |
No Dish isn't better.
Stop yer bitchin and sack up. You'll get it in 3 weeks. I'm scheduled for the 27th to receive mine. Phob thinks they tend to suck... I'll be happy to get my locals in HD. SB party over my house this year probably. |

And no I won't stop bitchin', it's a bunch of shit. |
I think DISH is better.
I just got their dual tuner HD DVR, the vip622. Fantastic unit. I placed the call on a Friday to get the new equipment, and the installation guy was available the following Tuesday. There are no equipment shortages, and plenty of HD channels, including many local markets. |
My dish-notwork hasn't in 4 days. I'm not happy at all. The Tonguechewer the skiptowne of Iowania is sending is supposed to come today....sometime.
After 40 minutes on the phone, they had the nerve to suggest they were going to bill me a minimum of $50.....I indicated strongly that this wasn't acceptable, when I pay $1k/year for TV, rent their effing equipment, and this is about the 3rd time since June its been down. I'm not happy at all with Dish notwork. At least they're trying to hose me out of the $150 sign up rebate I was promised and filled out the paperwork to recieve. Oh, and the whole "pay $199 for HD equip" isn't working for me either. |
I want to see Iowanian naked!
|
Thats a common thought, I'm sure.

wouldnt drop DTV for anything.. Never had a problem. Had to wait a couple of times for things, but I wouldnt go to dish or cable, even if you had my nuts in a vice...
I love the sunday ticket and Espn full court. Dish Network is for old people. Cable is for whiners! (No NFL Network) |
Good luck with that. I'm still going 'round and 'round with them over about $100 worth of services they billed me for that I didn't want from over 5 yrs ago. I've never been treated as shitty by any other company in my life.

I havent upgraded to HD yet, but have been with them since 1996... not one problem |
I've been a very satisfied DTV customer for 10 years now......
I've had the new HD-DVR for about three months now with no problems. I don't care for the menus and such, compared to my old TIVO unit, but I'm slowly adapting. And it's nice not to need an OTA antenna to watch locals in HD. |
I may not have the NFL Network because I'm a TW customer but my HD-DVR works great and Ive had one outage for a couple of hours in 5 years of service.
|
This is all very confusing. I want to get a dish installed on my building, but I don't know which way to go.
Sounds like satellite service is an orbiting crap game. FAX |
Actually,
I think everyone forgot to mention the funky format the Dish Network has. You can't flip through channels. You have to use the guide to go to your channel. That's right, you can't catch that Don Lepre how to invest infomercial because it's not listed on the guide. The damn remote is like a super scientific calculator. I'm pretty savy when it comes to electronics & that remote is the most confusing thing I've ever had to electronically navigate. I usually never say never but in this case... I'd NEVER switch to Dish Network. My mother got Dish Network 2 weeks ago and she hates it as she's a novice when it comes to electronics and has a hard time with the remote herself. She said she couldn't get DTV ebcause the sat man said that he couldn't get it to her for some reason. Anyhow, FAX. If you've never listened to me before, listen to me now. DO NOT GET DISH NETWORK WHATEVER YOU DO. AS mcuh as I hate cable, I'd go the cabel route before I go Dish Network. Another plus is DTV's CS is REALLY GREAT. I've never had a problem with them nor their service. Sinec I'm a 5-star customer, I always get their deals they're offering the public for free or little cost @ all. |
