Kansas City will have its opportunity to pay its final respects to Lamar Hunt in a special memorial service to be held at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Missouri on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 2:30 PM.

The memorial service is open to the general public. Doors to the auditorium will open at 12:30 PM with the program slated to begin promptly at 2:30 PM. Family members and dignitaries from around the sports world will be in attendance.

The Community of Christ Auditorium is located at 1001 Walnut Street, Independence, Missouri, 64050, and can comfortably accommodate nearly 6,000 people with parking for 3,000. The auditorium’s phone number is 816/833-1000.

Huh, strange. I would figure that having the service at Arrowhead would be better suited.

Too much space. It would seem like no one cared if even 20,000 people showed up. I went to games in the 80s and 20,000 people showing up was like being in a library.

The Dallas service is Saturday (16th) at 1:00pm. Moody Coliseum, SMU .

Understandable, but it is the (Formerly) Owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, and I just thought that it would be fitting to have his memorial service at Arrowhead.
