L J , keep or trade for draft picks ?

It appears there is alot of anger over his play, lack of pass blocking and catching the rock. He will be a pain in the arse to resign again.

With alot of holes to fill , do we use him as trade bait ? If so, what do we ask for him ?

StcChief 12-18-2006 11:05 AM

At this point his stock is high enough to listen.

Tribal Warfare 12-18-2006 11:07 AM

keep him, and get him a better O-line. RBs like him don't grow on trees

JBucc 12-18-2006 11:08 AM

Only if someone is dumb enough to offer us a Herschel Walker type deal.

Donger 12-18-2006 11:08 AM

So, if I understand your logic, we create a huge hole in order to fill a bunch of other holes?

DJJasonp 12-18-2006 11:12 AM

At some point in time....maybe this year or next...etc...

LJ is going to become a huge problem for us. I could see a very nasty holdout on his part because he's A) unhappy with his contract and/or B) because we franchised him....

LJ has been pretty decent about being quiet about how he really feels about playing in KC (in my opinion)....but I think his immaturity will take over at some point (soon?) and we'll find out just how bad he wants out of KC.

of course....just one man's opinion...but if my hunches are right....now is the perfect time to trade him.

That my friend is the Key.. I would trade him for a Walker type deal in a heart beat.

But then you have to remember we have Carl and Herm doing the drafting...

Not the same as Jones and Johnson....

BIG_DADDY 12-18-2006 11:14 AM

You try and and resign him at the end of this season before you fire Herm and bring in some white coach. LMAO

patteeu 12-18-2006 11:16 AM

It depends on what he could bring. I'm not against trading him if it's a spectacular offer, but it would have to be pretty spectacular. I don't think it needs to be Hershal Walker spectacular, but it has to be something pretty valuable. This poll would have been better if you'd named a price (e.g. 2 first round picks). I'd trade him for 2 first round picks if it was a team that you'd expect to draft early in the round (e.g. Tampa Bay) but not if it was someone that you'd expect to draft late in the round (e.g. Denver).

the Talking Can 12-18-2006 11:19 AM

trade LJ?

wow

Archie Bunker 12-18-2006 11:20 AM

He is the only playmaker on this damn team. Lets trade him :shake:

Hootie 12-18-2006 11:23 AM

HE HAS 1,500+ YARDS THIS YEAR, ANOTHER 400 YARDS RECEIVING, 15 TD'S, AND IS AVERAGING OVER 4 YARDS PER CARRY BEHIND PERHAPS THE WORST OFFENSIVE LINE WE'VE HAD IN TWO DECADES.

GENIUS RIGHT HERE.

Hootie 12-18-2006 11:23 AM

besides...the way we overwork LJ, he deserves a BIG contract extension PRETTY soon, and I won't blame him ONE bit if he holds out...

ROYC75 12-18-2006 11:31 AM

Hold on a minute here Chief fans, I never said I would or want to trade him. I just asked the question for most of you to jump off the deep end with.......

Hydrae 12-18-2006 11:46 AM

NO! You must keep the only star left in the Chiefs firmament. (No, I don't expect Gonzo to be here next year)
