He could possibly get cut? Cap casuality.

Ok he will be 35 years of age. But does he still have that passrush ability?

Something we desperately need in the interior of our line.

*Im not a big fan of signing old players, and giving them hefty contracts. Something this organization has done over the last while.

Id prefer to build through the draft, but, are their really any passrush specialists at DT this year in FA or draft? Say Sapp is our best option? Is he worth the risk?

No.

Signing guys like Sapp over the years is one of the reasons that this team is in a constant state of mediocrity.

He should have come here instead of Oakland... and we should have paid him instead of Barber or Holliday... he would have been better off in KC, as he had NO fire in Oakland... who could? Oaktown blows.

Craash 12-24-2006 08:52 PM

Ok, this might take awhile.

No.

Hammock Parties 12-24-2006 08:53 PM

Yes. I thought he was washed up but he isn't.

Yea, becuase obviously the 1 or 2 years he MIGHT have left fit right in with the window we have left. [/sarcasm]

There are a few players I NEVER want to see in the Red/Gold. Romo was one. Sapp is one. GoChiefs is one.

Hammock Parties 12-24-2006 08:59 PM

What's wrong with Sapp? The dude isn't the Moss of defensive tackles. He plays hard on most every play. He's the leading sacker from the DT position this year. You don't think we could use a guy like that, even for two years?

Dark Horse 12-24-2006 09:01 PM

Yes but not for big dollars, he might just be the kind of outspoken field leader this D needs to take the next step.

BucEyedPea 12-24-2006 09:02 PM

You shouldn't...he's over the hill!
And now he's all hills. :hmmm:

KCinNY 12-24-2006 09:03 PM

Yeah 'cause everybody knows that signing aging has-beens is a sure fire way to get to the Superbowl.

Why screw around trying to draft and develop good young players?

No, I don't like Sapp. He's played the race card on national TV (remember "the man" interview?), he's a loud mouth, and he's a perfect fit in the raider organiztion.

IF we were one ***hole from winning the superbowl, perhaps I'd reconsider, but in the state this team currently is, I think there are many options that are at least as good without as much baggage as he brings. He's a worse version of Chet Glock.

How many of those do we need?
