Tailgating and Victory Party in Indy for Chief Fans

There is going to be a Chiefs Fans Rally before the game at New York Street and Capitiol Streets. There are lots of parking areas for Tailgating. This is Indy not Arrowhead so if you park in a parking garage they will not allow any cookers/grills whats so ever!
The parking fees at New York and Capitol should be $10 to park ( * been $10 all season). I'm driving the Mustang so I won't have any tailgating gear with me on this trip. We will have to figure that out.

Its about 2 blocks north of the stadium so we can all walk to the stadium together or just meet up with some fellow Chief fans. If it rains, we will move everyone to the BW3's which is a block a half from the stadium!

Chiefs Victory party will be at the Slippery Noodle after the game for those so inclinded. The Slippery Noodle is just few blocks from Arrowhead east...uh the RCA dome.

I have found several options for 3 star hotels in Indy for $39.00 through hotwire.

I won't be into Indy until Saturday morning but if you are going to get into Indy on Friday night and want to arrange something use this thread to organize.

Let's show them lame ass fans in Indy what a "Real" fan is.

Can we get a sticky from a mod?

Pretty sure that the closest parking for a rig that large to downtown would be at the airport (10 mi west)

ROFL

Another thing to remember about downtown Indy is the farther away you are from the dome, the cheaper the parking. My regular garage is $3 for Colts games. It is located at Pennsylvania & Market.... About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the dome.

Closer than parking at the Adam's Mark in KC ;)

Any tips/tricks we should know about downtown? The dome? Anything else?

The big thing would be to get there early as anytime there is a home game, half the streets are clogged and the other half are closed. There is also a rodeo in town, so downtown will be a nightmare Saturday.

Everything you will want to do in Indy will be within walking distance so where you park isn't that important.

Take the first affordable parking spot you come across... Parking will range from $1 to $20. We used to park in the Indians parking lot off West street... people seem to forget about that lot.

The other tip is, even though you are deep within enemy territory, enjoy downtown. It is what KC hopes will happen with the Sprint Center and the P&L district. The warehouse district is full of unique bars and restaurants. Two places that are definitely worth the stop are St Elmo's steakhouse ($$$, but a very old - 100yrs + original steakhouse and better than Plaza 3 & Ruths Chris combined, try the Shrimp Cocktail!) and The Slippery Noodle. Circle Center mall is an upscale shopping center that has been built into old downtown buildings if anybody wants to do some shopping.

If you get lost walking around, find Monument Circle. It is dead center downtown, both Meridian Street (North / South) and Market Street (East / West) feed into the round about around the Monument. From the monument it is easy to find anything worth finding in downtown. (If you get lost around game time, just follow the mass of Manning jerseys walking like zombies to visit their false idol)

Across from the dome is a plaza where they hold their pregame festivities. (bands, sponsors, kinda like they do outside the gates at Arrowhead)

Wanted to let people who are going to the game about ticket typos. I received my tickets from ticketsnow.com yesterday and they have 2005 "AFC Playoff Game 1" printed on them. Called them immediately to find out what was going on and to make sure I hadn't been ripped off! They told me there were tickets printed incorrectly with this date on them and the were valid tickets. I called the Colts ticket office myself to see if they could verify my tickets. I was told that there were a number of tickets that were printed incorrectly with the 2005 date on them and the tickets are good for admission to the game. Thought I'd pass this on to anyone else who may get their tickets and panic like I did.

Since this is my first post and can't start a new thread, maybe someone can do that for me to get the word out.

I'm driving up from Joplin with my wife and son for the game. We'll be in section 101, row 18, decked out in Chiefs gear!

Hope to see a "Sea of Red" in Indy!

There are several garages close, this link (the same map as the other thread) has an interactive parking feature that tells you about the garages.

New York & Capitol is at about D4 on the map.

Is the "Chiefs Fan Rally" an organized event, or is it just a general location that a lot of people are gravitating to?

Just a central spot for us to find each other. Nothing official.

Really? (I see the smiley).

That is our mode of transportation. We will arrive early. My guess is any lot will let us park and just charge us for the amount of regular spaces we take. A fee we will gladly pay.
