He's dumb if he goes to Tulsa. It would be likely that he'd only play for Malzahn for a year after his year loss of eligibility. I don't see Tulsa as being a longterm home for Malzahn. He's on the move up the ladder, and he'll be looking to move up after a couple of successful seasons there.

It was on the news at 6. Tulsa has a new head coach as well so the situation is unstable here.

Who else runs the spread, by the way? Florida, I guess.

Mitch hasn't really done anything to impress so far this year. I think he'll be good in the longterm, but I don't think Arkansas will be the right fit for him now that Gus is gone.

Excuse my ignorance but why did Malzahn leave as O-coordinator at AR to take the same job at Tulsa? Was there some type of feud between him and Nutt that I'm not aware of?

Hell, Malzahn's offense took the SEC by storm this year....kindve surprised to hear that

The short of it is Gus was 'forced' on Nutt to both improve the offense and get the high school guys from Gus' team. Nutt said "ok" to get the players, then essentially shut Gus down.

Nutt's offense was the RBs... there was not much influence from Gus by most accounts. So, he left and I can't blame him.

I hate Houston Nutt.

Mustain took an unofficial visit to Tulsa today. He met with the President of the University and the coaching staff. He has until tomorrow to enroll for next semester. His other option is to enroll in a JUCO and after a season there enroll at OU. We should know something soon. This info came from Channel 6 news in Tulsa.
